We booked the plasterer to come in for next week to plaster the ceiling in the sitting room (deep ARTEX not Semtex as I called it before!) and to reinstate the second arch in the room to a proper shaped doorway but of course we have had to cancel due to rubbish kitchen. We decided we were going to get people in to do everything. The electrician has had to be put off (although he was in yesterday to put new fuse board in). We don't know when the kitchen will be sorted so I have cancelled the order for the wallpaper as it is looking like it is not going to be until September before we can get going on the rest of the flat and I might change my mind about what I want!!

This is has put everything back including the bedrooms and hall redecorating. We always used to do it ourselves but with his shifts and my work pattern for the next couple of months we thought it was best to pay people to do it AND they do the clearing up. I know it sounds extravagant but I am walking a thin line with this kitchen situation.......

Went downstairs earlier to put recycling out and saw a bruddy rat! We are very close (about thirty feet) to the two historical man made rivers going between Syon Park, Isleworth and Heathrow and the one from Hampton Court which runs parallel with it. Husband thinks the dredging further up has disturbed the river animals. I hope they don't like my garden too much.

Zizi it has taken forever because we have had so many hospital visits in between and then had utility re tiled etc , once upon a time I could have gone through the house no bother but I'm thinking next time I will get a man in who can 😊 still haven't done ceiling in sitting room and dining room , not that they are dirty but I would like them done , I can manage small ceilings now but big ones are beyond me with having dodgy discs in my neck , Hubby probably right about the rats but they do say we never more than 25 feet from a rat no matter where we live . Hope that kitchen gets sorted soon as you say everything else has to go on hold xx

We are hoping the weather stays nice for today as OH has decided it's time to light the chiminea this evening. I was beginning to think we would never get to sit outside in the evening .All th garden lights now are now set up and working so it should look nice. We plan to sit and drink the odd glass of wine and watch the sun set accompanied with some nibbles, I'm thinking light snacks , he is thinking jacket potatoes and hot dogs.....

Good morning everyone. Nanto - it's pretty overcast here as well! Typical, since we're going to DIL1's Dad and Stepmum's barbecue today. We'll also have to take Eva with us since my friend is away this week-end, so at least it will be better for her if it's cloudy.

Oma - no wonder you're exhausted - that amount of decorating would wipe out 6 professional decorators, no trouble! You really do need to put your feet up a bit. xx

Mimi - that sounds like bliss, but the choice of snacks made me smile! I'd love to know what you decide.

I hope everyone has a good day.

I was wondering where Pearl was. Glad she's okay if exhausted. I know she has an awful lot of child care.
If you're looking in Pearl I'm sending best wishes and hope you can join us again when you get a chance.xx
                    Oma,thanks for letting us know.

The family party apparently went on until four am, I left at 12.30. Apparently taxis were called. They had very bad heads today and I had booked for us all to have brunch in a Yurt, they managed to pull themselves together in time for the brunch. We all felt so much better after the fry-ups, poached eggs etc, fruit juices and copious amounts of tea and coffee. They have now cleared up the debris, recycled the bottles and I hope now they are having a sit down, and are probably asleep.

Well just back from a lovely lunch very relaxing in a little out of the Way country pub , came out and in the beer garden was a couple with two HUGE Nefoundland,s their paws were the size of saucers , the softest loveliest dogs all they wanted to do was have their tummy,s tickled Josh ended up lying on the floor with them . Their owners were telling us on a morning they run up the stairs and jump on the bed , the owners said they have to brace themselves for the impact 😊 the size of them I can imagine that's quite a hit .DD wondered if we could dog nap them hahaha I think Storm would have loved them too . I am now in my PJ,s and slobbing out

                            Hi everyone.
I have had a nice day. OH and I went to the racecourse to cheer on my SIL 2 and DD3, running in the 10k race this morning. They ran in aid of York Mind. I'm very proud of them. They raised £400 between them, and thank you to my friend on here who donated xx

We then called into the Designer Outlet, then on to friends for lunch. We had a lovely meal and catch up.

I hope Pearl is on the mend very soon.
I texted Qwerty today and she is now on her family holiday, all going well so far
