Husband is working a (dreaded) late shift today. Starts at 2pm and will be home at about 10pm by which time I will be half asleep and he will bounce in to tell me about his day and I will nod a lot. We both hate the late shifts. Problem is since a reorganisation within BA there are fewer people for him to swap shifts with so we may have to get used to more late shifts. He can only swap with people at his level and his level is slowly being phased out so when a person leaves or moves to a different position the job ends. I can see him being the last man standing!

Zizi I sympathise Brian had 3 shift patterns Early , Middle and Late . Hated the late shift sometimes 1 or 2 in morning when came home , middle was worse as you couldn't do anything in the morning and he was too tired to do anything when he got home late afternoon , My next door neighbour he works permanent nights she hates it but it's a job and bills must be paid .

There are about eight different shifts a day and he usually successfully avoids the mid ones as the mothers want them to fit with childcare. He would do all earlies if he could. I said I would take him today but he refused so he will be at the bus stop now and it has just started raining. Wet husband I think.

Hi everyone. A bit cloudy here, but 34° so not cold!!! We have been in the pool most of the morning. GD swam 54 lengths of our pool, which is about 10 metres long, so that's a lot of swimming for a 6 year old!

Barbeque night at our villa tonight, so GD can catch a reasonably early night.

          I hope everyone is well

Good to hear you are having a lovely time Gemini. Enjoy the BBQ.
Hubby used to work a 3 shift system, days, afters and nights. he disliked the night shift the most.
Weather been a mix of sunshine and cloud today, but we got the gardening done. I cut the grass and hubby did quite a bit of tidying up.

It sounds as though we've all had a good day, one way or another. I've pottered round, deadheading, taking photos of flowers in the garden and finishing my little plaque for GS2 passing his music exam. I just need some cord or something to hang it with.

I burned the pattern round the edge and the lettering and painted the music notation - it was too fiddly to burn. I did think of burning or painting piano keys round the edge, but settled for something easier.

Good morning . A bit overcast here after a lovely day yesterday.

DH is going to the tip.....lovely....to get rid of a load of hedge trimmings. I will be ironing and sorting things out for our little trip away so a fairly busy day here. Glad it's cooler, can't work in the heat....that's my excuse to sit in the garden with a book . Have a good day everyone.

forgot to say: lovely plaque, Daisy.. You are clever, he will love it.

                            Hello, everyone.

The end is in sight for Bs round of treatments Oma.
                            Beautiful plaque Daisy.

OH and SIL left early for a round of golf. They were extremely fortunate that there is a breeze today. DD, GD and I breakfasted on the patio and all read our books, while the baby had his morning nap. The golfers have returned, and pre lunch dip in the pool is in order for some of us. A hard life, but someone has to do it

Glad you're enjoying your holiday Gem.It sounds idyllic.
Daisy the plaque is lovely. Something unique for GS to treasure. You realise that you've made a rod for your own back as all achievements will now have expectations of personalised plaques of their own
Really raining now so I may be forced by my conscience to blow the cobwebs off the hoover

Twiddling my thumbs waiting for the call to say Shiloh is awake and can come home. House is far to quiet and tidy without him. Rainy here bring some hot sunshine back with you please Gemini.
