Qwerty, I'm so very sorry to read your account of the concert. The same thing happened to my daughter & I when we went to see Lionel R last year in Manchester arena. It was a girl & her bloke from Liverpool, also in their thirties. Too long a story to tell again but it makes you so angry doesn't it. I mean why spend all that much money, get legless & not behave in an appropriate way? I don't begrudge anyone enjoying themselves but to spoil it for others ....grrrr, it makes me so angry.

We're going to see Lionel R again at the end of this month in Sheffield. My OH laughed his head off when I said I was going to take pepper spray for any trouble makers! I did so envy you going to see Barry M. Good for you for being able to rise above it.

I remember now you telling us a similar story, I have seen Lionel at Sheffield would see him again if he came to Leeds. 😀

I also remember the story about the concert Nana. Did you get something in compensation, I cannot remember? Have a great time.

We do not go to concerts but for my 60th birthday last year my husband took me to "Beautiful" the musical about Carole King which I absolute loved, I cried most of the way through it was very much of my style at that time. I cannot say that BM would be my "go to" but I enjoy his music and will sing along at the top of my voice along with everyone else. I did my fair share of sitting on the stairs in despair singing "I can't live without you" when I was younger ......

I'm sorry to hear about the idiots who spoilt your night Qwerty

We have had lots of rain here in Stratford, interspersed with lovely sunny hot periods!
We and the friends we came with met our 2 Stratford friends for a meal tonight. We all had a good time. Tomorrow we are going to Warwick Castle.

Busy day today, so will have to catch up later.

Jobs to do at in laws, then this afternoon me and sister in law are taking them to a funeral. It's dads brother, none of us really knew him, but parents feel as though should go. He had a good innings, he was 95.

Hope we don't get rain today like yesterday. It was really heavy and never stopped.

Good morning everyone. We woke up to rain this morning, but it's now stopped and the sun is trying to break through. I'm still wondering if LG escaped a soaking at the Proms in Upton Park last night!

Qwerty - what a rude couple - I hope they didn't spoil your enjoyment too much - and yes, I remember Nana having a similar situation, which actually got even more unpleasant because the management mishandled it. Why can't people just behave themselves!!!

I'm getting a few chores done then off to pick GD2 up from playgroup. I hope it stays fine so they can play outside - she loves that.

Oma - good luck with the shoopping today!

Morning ladies. I see we have an unwelcome visitor on the site. Yes Zizi I complained to the people who ran the event ( +police+arena+ Council + fan club+ security firm, Fbk) & basically anyone who would listen. In the end the event organisers gave us free tickets in the same places as Manchester, but in Edinburgh.

It was an open air evening concert in the Castle ....just magical. Fairy story ending...happily ever after.

On my own til Weds night. OH away golfing. Enjoy your day everyone.

Nana - do you enjoy having a couple of days on your own? I always have mixed feelings if OH is away for a few days. It doesn't happen often now he's retired though. The good bits were having mushrooms on toast for dinner and having control of the remote!

Such a pity Qwerty that the couple next to you put a bit of a damper on your evening out.

ZIZI, Hope you DIL is recovering after her accident.

I'm back ! Did you all behave yourselves?

We we had a lovely time albeit a little on the damp side. I have lost count the amount it times we got soaked . When it rained, boy did it rain !
On a very hot and muggy Saturday afternoon we were sitting on the decking of a pub called the Boathouse having a refreshing cold drink watching the boats lazily wake their way up and down stream on the river , when the heavens opened. It was then a mad dash to get inside.
The thing was, we had to be back to the hotel when BIL and SIL were staying as a table had been booked for 5pm so that we could have a meal and watch the Wales football match and then the England match so we had to make leave the Boathouse within the next 10 minutes, rain or no rain !
We soon discovered that this would entail wading through flash flood water that was well over ankle deep. We had no choice but to roll up our trouser legs and get on with it. Myself and SIL roared with laughter doing it but OH and BIL complained and moaned all the time . ( Men , eh ? )
Apart from that we did manage to spend the majority of the weekend dry , we walked all along the Roman Walls without getting wet, when ever it rained we were either in a cafe or a pub .
On the Sunday we were woken up by what sounded like heavy rain , but when I looked through the bedroom window (B and B is right on the river side) I could see at least 80-90 swimmers in the river . It was the annual triathlon going on . Men and women off all ages were swimming then bike riding then running a course the went right passed where we were staying.
Apart from the weather we had a very unusual but relaxing time
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

At least you can laugh about it Mimi, when we were at the proms on Sunday evening the heavens opened. I threw a pacamac over the picnic, pulled my hood up and waited for it to pass. Which eventually it did, but had to sit in soggy jeans and knickers for the remainder of the evening. As where I huddled up the rain gained entry right down my back, it was horrible. But being British and stoic we were intent on enjoying ourselves, the music was great, lots of flag waving at Rule Brittania. The wine disappeared, some diluted by the rain, so it was off to the wine truck where hubs nearly had a fit. £5 for a glass of prosecco and it wasn't even a large glass. The finale was a fantastic fireworks display. Anyway morning all, I'm off to have my hair done later and need to walk muttley before the rains come. Tomorrow I am over to DD's as the eldest 2 have an inset day and I'm on granny duty.
