Rain, rain and more rain here!

We are having friends round for a meal tonight. Apart from cooking dinner and ironing I have no plans today. It would have been GD day but she is at her friends for the day.
We are in the process of booking our holiday with DD2 , so I am spending a lot of my time looking at villas and flights. We think we have found the one now, just need SIL to look it over.

Stopped raining here but still overcast.
OH and I went to the local pub for lunch.It's been revamped since I was last there and is very nice and fresh. I'm afraid we were rather greedy having lovely fish and chips followed by sticky toffee pud for OH and a warm bakewell and apple cake for me( both with ice-cream of course! )plus coffee! Both feeling rather full now as we usually have a sandwich or soup at lunchtime. Almost the best part is no cooking this evening for me!

I have cooked shepherd's pie for our friends tonight (and one for the freezer), and 2 apple crumbles, one sugar fee version for the husband, who is diabetic.
Table set, wine ready, all we have to do later is pop the food in the oven and put the veg on.

Morning all we are on the train to Cardiff to see DD and GS. At the moment the sun is shining which is most unusual for Wales!

Brrr, it's cold this morning! Very cold and frosty when I took the bin out. The sun is out now, so it will thaw quickly. No golf for OH, the course is waterlogged again.
Usual Thursday stuff with my mum for me.

Afternoon all been to Hospital for his line maintenance and bloods, got into waiting room and our nurse was been berated by a very rude couple because his bloods were low and he was unable to have his Chemo , it's not the nurses decision it's the Dr's it's dangerous to have it when immune system is so low but this couple went on ridiculous shouting at her in front of everyone , well me being me I waded in and told them to be quiet there were other poorly people in the waiting room who were getting upset and these nurses shouldn't have to put up with it , it's not there fault and they should take it up with there consultant , Even the receptionist got it in the neck from them . Eventually they accepted another appointment for next week and the unit manager came down and has transfered there care to another nurse as our nurse said it's not the first time they are always nasty ,
we got into her room a few minutes later and she put her arms around me and sobbed she was so shaken up and upset , I gave her a good hug wiped her tears and called the volunteer to get her a cup of tea and made her take 5 minutes to drink it and calm down , she said I give the best Mam hugs 😊 we are very close to her she doesn't deserve that kind of treatment, not one of them do they work their socks off and without their care we would all be in a sorry state . As we were coming out they were talking to the unit manager no doubt complaining we didn't hear what was said but the unit manager was saying "and who would you blame if we gave you your treatment and you ended up in hospital" so we assumed they were not letting it drop , nasty pieces of work who should think themselves lucky they were getting treatment 😠

As the saying goes in Yorkshire Oma, 'there's nowt as funny as folk'. You just can't understand some people. Have they not heard of not shooting the messenger? I hope that your OH's stuff was ok. You're such a comfort to people. Hope that everyone's having a good day.

Oma - well done for speaking up and telling that nasty couple their fortune! The only 'fault' lies with the patient whose bloods weren't up to the required standard. He should go home and do better!!! In other words, the staff can't help it any more than he can! The nurse or consultant should have complained about the patient for not being well enough to have scheduled treatment. !

Been out to a very upmarket place for Dinner tonight with SIL parents , so posh I put my pearls on 😊 it was amazing not cheap £205.00 for 4 of us but our DD and SIL gave us and his parents £100.00 gift vouchers each for Christmas so only cost us £5 plus tips very unusual food one was sweet pepper macaroons I could have ate a plate full only tiny but Delicious we came home stuffed 😊
