Back from town. Nice lunch of macaroni cheese with ham chunks husband had scampi. Picked up the gift. Must admit I am disappointed in the "gift" packaging. I asked for it to be included but not made up as I ordered on line and wanted to actually see what I was giving. They sent a L'Occitaine box with tissue flat in the bottom and sides and very scrunched tissue paper in the middle. The little wicker basket would just about fit in but the lid wouldn't go on so I had to remove the scrunched up paper and tape the lid down. The contents of the basket are quite nice and all in all cost £30. I also bought a trio of hand creams (£12) - didn't realise there was hand cream in the wicker basket but that doesn't matter, a girl can never have enough hand cream. For that they sent a thick paper yellow envelope, no tissue, fortunately I always have wrapping materials in my wrapping up shoe box. We are taking it to their house tomorrow so Ben can hide it and give it to her on Wednesday which is her birthday. We always do that because it makes him very happy. He is very good and does not let her know (but she does know). Now I have to try to remember where I put her birthday card. I bought it from a very posh place and it is lovely. Son has had a very Art Deco ring made for her as that is what she likes and the card is a reflection but where on earth did I put it? Off to search!!

Afternoon all, well the rain held off all day but now has started again. I spent 2 1/2 hours spring cleaning our lounge, which is no mean feat as it is a lounge/diner and rather large. But everything is back in order and smelling gorgeous. Had to get hubs to heave the large rug up the garden onto the line for a good beating. Going to do our bedroom tomorrow, not changing allegiance to the BB's but you know when a room just starts to irritate you.or maybe that's just me. Going off to have a hot bubbly bath and may, just may take a little drinky in with me as a reward, but first I must phone and speak to M,she had her first horse riding lesson today and I'm keen to know how much she enjoyed it.

I know the feeling about a room beginning to irritate LG! We had to clear the dining room when it was painted and re-carpeted and everything went in the lounge! Table and chairs are back in place, but there are still drawers, crockery, wine rack etc still in lounge. Tomorrow I'm going to start putting it all back. The rest of the house needs a good dusting hoovering too, but I'm taking that one room at a time next week. Plus I've got all the washing and ironing to do...how do you always seem to have more dirty clothes when you came back from holiday than if you'd stayed at home?

Good morning all. Good luck to all those taking part in the London Marathon today. Also to my DD, SiL and GS who will be taking part in the walk for Life in Cardiff /Kidney Foundation this morning. DD and SIL having been doing this annual event for a few years now, GS even had his picture in the South Wales Echo one year, he was only two at the time bless him.
It is being held in beautiful Bute park.

Good morning all. Good luck to your DD, SIL and GS, Mimi.

Sunny, bright and windy here! Out for a walk and Sunday lunch with friends today. As I am still full from lovely 3 course meal last night, lunch doesn't appeal. I'm sure I will feel differently in a few hours though

Morning everyone. Sunny here. Going over to shower mum later & set her hair, as her hairdresser couldn't make it this week. Hoping to pop in to see GS2 on way home. Hope you all enjoy your day.

Aftenoon. Just back from visiting Ben and his parents. Dil was BBC journalist made redundant last year and has just picked up some freelance work so was in what they call the shed, you and I would call it an annexe, it is massive and kitted out as an office/gym/storage area with a lovely decking area. She came and chatted for a while and we were talking about Ben going on a two night trip with school. Two teachers have been to Great Ormond Street to be trained in how to administer his injections if he has an episode but dil will be in a B&B down the road. She has said that we and her parents can go and be trained in resuscitation for him (he has weak bones in his chest due to his open heart operations so we will be taught how to do it without doing more damage) and administering the injection. This means that we might be able to start having him again for sleepovers in the relatively near future which I am looking forward to.

That's good news ZIZI and well worth knowing how and what to do in a crisis. Well I have been entertained by DD and eldest girls this morning,so any hopes of further Spring cleaning have gone out the window. Got a nice leg of lamb in the oven for hubs and I. Drizzly and very overcast and chilly here.

Just catching up again after another very busy week. Day off today, I'm meeting a friend and going to the Magna Carta exhibition at the British Library and then lunch. I do like being a lady who lunches, even if it's only sometimes. Have a good week everyone

Afternoon every one. We have been outside erecting a wooden upright grow house. It said on the instruction leaflet ( or destructions as I call them after 41years of marriage with OH who is not Mr D.I.Y) that is can be easily assembled by two people in 20/ 40 mins. Two and a half hours later we finished it ! It does look nice and it fits on the patio lovely. When the sun comes out, it's raining at the moment, I will take a photo of it and attempt to post it on here 😏
