I can remember giving the family a lecture about not leaving their things lying around or the new puppy would chew them then left a brand new, quite pricey, pair of shoes on the bottom of the stairs. The dog totally wrecked one shoe and I was left with one perfect shoe. Somehow more annoying than him chewing up both.

I found the dog training class hard going. He behaved perfectly for the trainer and would then roll over and lie on his back with me so I would end up half dragging him along the floor.

    xx

Oma and LG - I think some dogs are just born to chew! I hate to say this, but Rusty was still chewing shoes and furniture at 14! Storm and Buzz must have had a wild time though to do all that damage. Oma - sorry you had a wasted hospital trip - what a nuisance, and 3 weeks for blood test results seems an awful long time.

Two days of GDs and one of dog training has caught up with me and I'm shattered tonight!

A bit overcast here and has just started to drizzle

Dd has been so lucky with Dexter, her ESS, he has never chewed anything. You can leave anything around and he's not interested. Quite unusual for a spaniel but he does like to dismember new toys and take their innards out! We now have a collection of rags that used to be toys but he loves them. .

Have a good day ladies 🌞

Mornin ladies. Just a quick look on here before I shower & go to the docs. Hope that you're feeling better this morning Oma. Enjoy your day everyone.

Plant - you're right. she's the perfect house dog, polite and very well-behaved. But when you get her out on the lead it's another story. Hence the training classes, where after 8 or 9 weeks she's still the new girl who upsets all the other dogs!

Enfys, It's overcast and drizzly here as well. Sigh! Just when I've got a day at home to get on with the garden, or even get down to our neglected allotment.

Oma - I hope you feel better as the day wears on. Nana - let us know how you get on at the docs.

My family next door have a golden retriever, she is 16 now but she has been an amazing family dog, easy to train. The only thing she has eaten was a pair of dirty pants which came out the other end. Sadly she is very old and poorly now so they have decided to take the vets advice and have her put to sleep, not sure when.

                      Good morning everyone.

A dull day here.So far I feel this summer has been most disappointing. Let's hope the weather pulls its sock up for the rest of it!!

Housework and some ironing for me this morning, then the usual Thursday with my mum.

I hope you soon feel better Oma.
That's sad about the family dog Plant, it's the downside of owning and loving pets isn't it?
I hope you got a good sleep last night Daisy and feel somewhat refreshed!

Plant - it's a terribly hard decision to make, so I really feel for your family. Sixteen is a good age for a Goldie and she's had a great life - it still doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye though. Big hug to all the family. xxx

Gem - yes, thank you. I slept like a log and am having a pottering sort of day, ie doing nothing much!

I've changed my picture today .... (I think) roughly translated it says Grandmother loves, grandmother cuddles, grandmother teaches sport, ,
grandmother protects, grandmother scolds, grandmother kisses, I love being a grandmother

That's a terrible thing to have to choose to do Plant, I held our last dog in my arms as they put her to sleep, I cried the whole time!
