We've had a lovely day with DIL1. Lots of laughs, reminiscing and looking at photos. Bailey is settling down - he's claimed Eva's bed in our bedroom, so I guess I know where he will spend the night. . We'll have to make Eva a bed on the other side of our bed.

Enfys, your GS is very enterprising, setting up his own online business. Hard work usually pays off, and I'm so pleased his business is going so well. I hope GD enjoys her break. The hospitality industry is very hard work and I'm sure she is ready for a rest. The weather has been horrible today, hasn't it! The rain started seconds after I got back from walking Eva first thing this morning and hasn't stopped since. Your snacks sound like a good idea, but I think you're wise not to keep weighing yourself. As long as you feel well and have enough energy for the things you want to do I'm sure you'll be ok.

Nanto, you always make me feel hungry for the food you're cooking.

Lizzie, three Euros for 30 minutes sounds incredibly cheap, but what an amazing service it is. I'm sure your help is always appreciated. Did you have your hair cut?

WeeGranny, I'm so sorry you are getting pain in your hip again. I hope another injection will sort it out again.

Oma, I'm sure your GS2 will get to be where he wants to be. He's taken the first step with his GCSE results. xx. Look forward to seeing your new-look door.

Good morning. It's a bit wet and very windy.

Daisy, glad you enjoyed your time with DIL.

Oma, your door will look nice when it's done.

SIL and her hubby came yesterday, they didn't leave until nearly half past 6.
We always find plenty to talk about.

I made 4 mince hot pots yesterday. There was a bit of filling left over, so that is in the freezer as well.

No cooking today, we are having fish and chips, courtesy of DS1.

          Morning everyone ,
Its wild here , supposed to die down by lunch , if it doesn’t I think the door man may postpone the door spraying.

          Daisy
Sounds a lovely day with DIL how are her and the boys doing?
Baily has taken up his spot hasn’t he poor Eva but she’s such a sweet dog I bet she doesn’t mind 😁

          Nanto
Nice when you get visitors who you can have a good old natter with.

DD just rang Storm wouldn’t go out for a wee this morning because of the wind , she said SIL had to almost drag him out of the door.
She said at one point she thought she would have to get him to use the cats litter tray 🤣🤣

MIL was brighter last night , she had been for a little walk and a sit in the chair for a couple of hours , but was in pain so they put her back in bed .
They have said she must try to do more she’s in danger of bed sores and her hip seizing if she doesn’t .

She knows this so she is trying
She was asleep when we got there , opened her eyes looked at the wall clock and said what are yous doing here at this time of the morning,
She thought it was 6.30 am 😁.

            Good morning everyone.
Storm Lillian is battering us up here!

WG, I'm sorry about the hip. I have no experience with hips, but I know the knee injections often don't help, or only for a short time. You should meet Plant for lunch as suggested

Daisy, I'm glad you and DIL are so close and had lovely day together.

Nan2, we like visitors with lots so chat about

Oma it sounds as though MIL is doing well. They had my mum out of bed and in chair after a couple of days for the same reasons. I would like our white garage door sprayed to match our blue front door.

Our green bean plants have blown over in the winds. OH grows climbing french beans in large pots with a wooden batten between for them to grow along. I hope the plants have survived . There is a fallen tree blocking the road we will be taking today but reports are it should be gone in the next half hour. The wind is due to start to drop around 12.

I have to go to meeting this morning, an annual review for my sister. Its about half an hour drive and I am very nervous about driving on open dual carriageways in high winds. I can feel my little car being buffeted and its especially frightening near the lorries. OH knows this and as she is free today will drive me to the meeting. It's in a small town, but there will be a tea room or coffee shop she could wait in. I will text her when the meeting is winding up. We will do a supermarket shop on the way back. No other plans apart from that .

Gemini, I hope the beans are saved. They were our favourite, my OH grew them like runners. I hope the meeting goes well.

Daisy, I hope Eva accepted her substitute bed. How lovely that you and your Dil can laugh about the past and reminisce.

GD coming later to do my housework, I am not doing a thing as I have hurt my back. Can’t imagine how as I only did some hot gunning of weeds in the courtyard. Thought I would have to sit in a chair all night but managed to get into bed then knocked a glass of orange over, so patch of carpet now needs a clean (any advice on how to remove an orange juice stain?)

Oma, I hope the wind dies down so you can have your door sprayed. Poor Storm frightened of the wind, he needs an indoor toilet. I hope your Mil will be able to manage some more steps, then she can go home. I suppose that could be a real problem for the family.

Nanto, lovely to have visitors and have a good chat. Freezer getting filled.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good Friday morning everyone. It's windy here but no rain at present. (Keeping fingers crossed)

Nanto, I think you enjoy having chatty visitors as much as we do. Pleased to see your empty freezer drawer is being put to such good use. Enjoy your fish and chips with DS1.

Plant, I wonder if you stood a bit awkwardly when you were doing the weeds? I'm so sorry your back is painful. It affects everything, doesn't it. Please be careful and move gently. It will be good to have GD for company. Will she make you some lunch as well?

WeeGranny, how is your hip today? Is it better if you move round gently or rest?

Gem, I hope the meeting about your sister goes well, and everything is as good as it can be. It sounds as though you're getting the full benefit of Storm Lilian. You must be relieved that S can drive you to your meeting today. DIL and I were talking about cars in high winds yesterday. GS1 is restoring an old Saab 96 which used to be mine, then DS1's, and I was saying to make sure GS knows how skittish it is in high winds. I do hope the bean plants survive. They must have been heavy with beans and then rainwater plus the wind. We had one or two pots blown over last night.

Oma, it's good your MIL is doing some walking, but bed sores must be a real worry. Do they have those mattresses which blow air through them to ease pressure on the patient's body? Is she seeing the physio? I think you can very quickly get disorientated in hospital, especially if there's no natural light.

I had to smile at the picture of your SIL trying to drag a reluctant Storm out into the garden. Neither Eva no Bailey seemed worried about the high winds last night or this morning. They're very preoccupied with stealing toys from each other - like small children they both want the same toy at the same time.

Thank you for asking, Oma, DIL and the boys seem to be doing ok. DIL has been very busy with all sorts of things, and I think both the boys' employers and workmates are being supportive. They are all going to Portugal on Sunday for a week's holiday, and I hope it will be a rest for DIL, and the boys will find plenty to occupy themselves. It will be the first time GS1 has driven abroad, so that will be an adventure for him. GS2 is happy to be a passenger, but I think he's too young to drive a hire car anyway.

Not getting door done today it’s too windy ,
Leaves and dust swirling so not ideal conditions,
He was so apologetic but as I told him he can’t do anything about the weather.
I said to just let me know when there is a day he thinks is suitable but not to worry as long as it gets done I don’t mind waiting.

                  Plant
maybe standing too long with the hot gun has caused your back pain, I know I get a sore back when I’m ironing.
It makes everything difficult doesn’t it.
Hope it eases as the day goes on , will GD bring H or is she at play school today?

                  Gem
I hope all is well with your sister,
I must admit I hated driving in high winds and passing Lorrie’s scared the life out of me ,
I either hung back or got past as quickly as I could .
Hope the beans can be saved would be a shame if they are ruined now.

My sister rang, her OH had to take down the bird feeders and wind chimes and two garden chairs had blown across the garden.

                  Daisy
How lovely they are having a holiday after all they have been through they deserve it.
Im sure GS will be fine driving , I think youngsters get less stressed driving in different places than us oldies 😁

Physio is going in each day to see MIL but we not sure if she’s doing as they ask
She has a low pain threshold so if it hurts she will refuse and not push through the pain .

Last night she had me looking through her bags and locker , under the bed and in her wash bag for a book she had lost ,how it would fit in a wash bag I have no idea but she made me look anyway.
I asked the nurse but they hadn’t seen it.
I text his sister and she found it at home this morning, she hadn’t even taken it into hospital with her 🙄

Hallo everyone, we had the wind this morning, storm forecast for this afternoon, but, it didn't happen! I did decide to stay home and get my calendar made for next year, it is always a lot of work so that is done.

Daisy, so nice for your DIL and the boys to get away for a holiday. I hope all goes well for you with the dog visitor! Is that the dog that wouldn't get in the car?

I hope all went well when visiting your sister Gem.

WG, I had an injection in my knee, years ago, it worked as well, then I had one in my foot for my arthritis, so painful, never again, it didn't help either!

Oma, do you think that your MIL will cope on her own again if she goes home?

Lizzie, I'm glad you escaped the storm.

Plant, take care with your back, I hope it is better soon. Do you have one of those wheat bags which you heat in the microwave? Mine is my saviour when my back is painful. Failing that a hot water bottle.

The holiday will do your DIL and GSs good Daisy. You all have to be kind to yourselves.

Oma, my mum was quite confused after her hip surgery and my friend who is a nurse said her Grandma, who is 100% with it was confused for a while after the same operation. So that may explain the book confusion!

All is calm here again now, in fact it was quite a sunny afternoon.
The meeting was fine, all routine stuff. I saw my sister for a bit after the meeting then OH and I did a Tesco shop.
This afternoon we got a lot of apples down from the tree, and cleared away all the ones which came down in the wind! The green beans are fine I'm pleased to say.
We had a coffee in the garden after that, enjoying the late afternoon sun.

Daisy, hope DIL and family have a lovely holiday.

Good morning. It's dry and no wind.

We aren't going out today. Hubby has some things to sort out for DS1 who is working all weekend, so hasn't got much time.
                              There is nothing we need.

Dinner will be a chicken tikka for hubby, i will have a cheese omelette.

                                Good morning ladies.

Nan2, the wind has returned here, but nothing like yesterday morning.

This afternoon there is a family gathering at DD1's. We will be ordering pizza in. Little GS3 will be so excited to see all his cousins

No plans before that as far as I know.

                                Have a good Saturday everyone.
