My DD has just told me that they have heard from the man who looks after the french property, apparently the power is on now but the water is infected.

Definitely better off back home Plant .
Keep taking care of yourself Glamma.
Oma, lots of fireworks around here tonight too.
We went to Castle Howard, a lovely drive in the sunshine and the autumn colours looked glorious. It's expensive to go into the ground and I wouldn't be able to walk much of it yet, so we visited the garden centre there and had lunch in the cafe
I had a few little naps when we got back .
Baby GS day tomorrow, so I'm hoping for more sleep tonight.
Night all! xx

Gem, hope you got some sleep. Enjoy your day GS.
Only plans for today, is hubby changing one of the security lights. Its an halogen one and he's replacing it with an LED one. They will all be LED then.
Dinner is potato croquettes, fish fingers and beans.
The pork chops we had yesterday were massive. It must have been one heck of a big pig. They were really nice.
Had overnight rain. I think the forecast is for sun and showers.
Have a good day ladies.Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning ladies.
Nan2, I had a much better night thank you. I took some painkillers around 4 am, but got a lot more sleep than the night before.
OH and I are looking after GS3 together today and next Monday. The week after I go back to Thursdays, mostly by myself.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good to hear you had a better sleep , at least S is with you today takes a bit of strain off you xxx
Nanto
You have reminded me I must check if our security light down our Alley way is still working ,
Its a motion sensitive one and we don’t use the alley way much only to take the bin out and hardly ever at night ,
So not sure it’s still ok
Nice easy lunch for you today 😁
Plant
Goodness just as well you came home when you did isn’t it,
Fireworks didn’t go on as long as I thought last night ,
The pub in the next village put on a big free display lots go there so maybe that’s why ,
I feel for all the Animals ,
Storm and Buzz sit at the window watching but poor Talulah is terrified ,
She has a box in the back of GSs wardrobe DD covers with a thick blanket and she hides in there with the curtains closed and doors shut so she feels safe
We off to IKEA this morning , it’s a lovely bright dry day for a change .

Good Monday morning everyone. The sun's shining, and no rain is forecast for us today!
Gem, it's good to read that you had a better night. It must be exhausting between the pain and the lack of sleep, but you will get there. Your drive out to Castle Howard sounds beautiful. Sending hugs. Have a lovely day with GS3, but don't overdo things.
Glam, I'm so pleased to hear you are starting to feel better. I do hope you enjoyed some of that chicken yesterday. Covid can affect your sense of taste, can't it, and with being so poorly no wonder you don't have much appetite. How is your DD? Is her foot still very painful?
Plant, it's a good thing you came home early with the infected water as well as losing power. Enjoy your theatre trip today. It's nice going in a group isn't it.
Oma, did the fireworks go on all evening? I hope GS1 had a good trip back to Leeds last night. I bet he went back with his washing done and a fridge full of food for the coming week. Is he enjoying the course? Enjoy your trip to IKEA!
Lizzie, did you get all your sewing done? Thank you so much for the mention of the Jack Murphy raincoats. They look really nice and I'm seriously thinking about getting one. The website doesn't say how long the full-length ones are and I think they may be too long for me - I'm only 5'3" - but I like the look of the ¾ ones as well. I'm going to check the lengths before deciding. How was yours for size? It says they are 'roomy' but I usually buy a size larger for something like that.
Nanto, I had to smile at your description of the pork shops! I hope your new security light is ok. Ours seem to be forever breaking! Have a good day, and hopefully lots of sun and not too many showers.
I want to get our large tender plants, mainly banana plants, wrapped up for protection before we have any more frost. Poor Eva didn't get a long walk yesterday because of the weather, but I'll try again later today!

The fire works ended around here about 9 so not as bad as usual .
GS went home with washed and ironed clothes and bedding a big haul of shopping and of course money from the Bank of Grandad 😁
Hes really enjoying his studies .
Im the same with coats being short you have to be careful ,
I have a nice cream waterproof coat but it’s a bit long and a nightmare to zip up I have to bend forward to reach the bottom then it kinks up as. I’m zipping it , I’m like a toddler who insists on putting their own coat on and can’t manage it 🥴🤣🤣Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oh, Oma, that must be funny to watch. I just wish our weather was never cold enough to need a coat! I'm sure GS1 appreciates all the support he's getting from his mum and dad and you and B. x"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Daisy, I have a full length one, they are quite long, I also have a three quarter one which is very handy on the bike. I had one when the girls were small and loved it then. What happened to it? Maybe a weight problem A larger size is better for movement and warm clothing to wear under it.
Sorry, I was doing coffee all the morning, now getting ready to go to aqua, in the car as it is blowing a gale with showers!
Daisy, I got the skirt finished and the blanket lined, it was heavier than I expected but I managed, it is like new!!!!
Oma, you spoil that boy!!!!! I have the girls for 2 nights this week, DS1 and DIL are travelling to Liverpool for a concertLast edited by Lizzie48; 06-11-2023, 10:33 AM.

Well I was run around IKEA and told to get enough napkins to last till after Christmas as no way were we coming back before then 🤣🤣🤣
He was like Sterling Moss in his wheelchair
To be fair for a Monday morning it was packed .
We then went to M&S for Frozen Croissants & pan au Raisin pastries.
We popped next door to Pets at home to look at toys for Storms Christmas presents
One of the assistants was arguing with this man that kept leaning over the baby rabbit pens and picking them up.
He couldn’t understand or wouldn’t understand why he couldn’t do that .
She was being very patient with him , if it had been me I wouldn’t have been so patient , he was just being a pest ,
You could tell he thought it was a big joke .
Someone must have asked the security guard from B&M to help as when we walked around the shop he was making this idiot leave .
Why do people have to be so ignorant,
Didnt he realise he was stressing the poor Rabbits out handling them like that 😡

I have done an enormous shop as my fridge and cupboards were bare. It took a lot of time and energy to unload as I am unable to park my car near to my door so I did it in stages. It is all put away now.
Oma, I hope you have enough napkins, would loved to have seen B wizzing around. Are you missing your GS less now you know he will be back and forth. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant, a big shop is exhausting! You could do with a spare supermarket trolley to keep for unloading your shopping. I hope you sat down with a cup of tea and a sticky bun afterwards.
Lizzie, thank you so much for the information about the raincoat. I think I'll get a ¾ one in a larger size. Well done on getting your sewing finished. You must be really pleased with both the skirt and the repaired blanket.
Oma, I bet it's hard to keep up with B when he's wizzing round like that. How many packets of napkins did you get? The man in Pets at Home sounds like an idiot. The poor bunnies would have been very scared I should think. Glad he was 'dealt with'.
I got some jobs done in the garden this morning, mainly cutting back the banana plants and putting a mulch on the soil. They're in pots and OH will help me to move and wrap them up all nice and cosy for the winter tomorrow. I've just got back from a lovely long walk with Eva. The Forest is looking beautiful now the trees are turning. It wasn't as muddy as I expected, although Eva did a good job of collecting it on her paws, legs and tummy!

Its hard work putting shopping away and having to carry it from the car ,
I hate putting it away,
Hope as Daisy said you sat down with a tea and something nice to eat.
Yes we are getting used to GS being away as he’s coming home as much as he can.
so we seeing a lot of him still😁
Daisy
Dont the trees look beautiful in their autumn colours, a nuisance near houses but in the forests and parks they look glorious.
I bought 6 packs and I had one left from last batch so now I have 700 napkins , think they will last a while 🤣🤣
We are hoping the weather is nice at the weekend to get all the leaves up , the garden behind the shed and down the alley way are all covered ,
The Drive is covered and the damn magpies have been throwing lumps of moss out of the gutters to get to bugs
Its all over and every morning we have to take lumps off the car.
Its good they clearing the gutters for us but god what a mess .🙄Im not fat just 6ft too small
