Lizzie, I'm so sorry I meant to add to my earlier post, your GD1's birthday must be a bittersweet day and I'm sure your thoughts are also with your late OH.

Oma, what a nice surprise to have GS turn up like that.

Glamm, hopefully your DD will be able to install GRU on your lovely new iPad. We should have done it in Birmingham - isn't hindsight a wonderful thing!

Plant, I think you and I are the two latest risers on GRU!! I'm sure your two GS who didn't get on very well would be there for each other if needed. Your GS S is so lovely and although they are chalk and cheese they both sound really caring people. How is your GS's bike business going?

Oma, at least your MIL and SIL have found a way to make their stormy relationship work.

I've had a fairly lazy day today. I've done some odd jobs - like reorganising my recipes file with a smart new set of index tabs. (Do I hear you say "get a life, Daisy"? ). I dodged the rain with a quick walk round the block for Eva - she's quite tired after two mega-busy days. OH is going out to his wood turning club tonight, and I'll do the Sainsburys order and start looking for a new tumble dryer - ours is on its last legs.

      Forgot to tell, you ,
This morning after I had cleaned my teeth the electric toothbrush wouldn’t turn off ,
We tried everything we could think off but no good .
As we were going out I put it in the kitchen sink still buzzing with a big metal bowl over it as I was worried it may over heat and explode or something like that
So I thought if it was in the metal sink with metal bowl over less harm would be done in there ,

B said we will just have to leave it to run down ,
Came back and it was still going , it eventually stopped

So we put it back on to charge and tried it a hour later and it turned on and off no bother.

We have had it a long time and I’m unsure about it now so I’m going to buy a new one .

you can imagine the noise of it buzzing in a metal sink but we didn’t know what else to do with it
Couldnt put it on the grass as it’s plastic and if it set on fire the whole garden would have burned .

Just as well we are detached or god knows what the neighbours would have thought this loud buzzing going on for at least 3 hours 😁

I wouldnt like to suggest what they may have supposed was going on for THREE HOURS Oma!!
How lovely to see GS unexpectedly.

Daisy I'm with you and Plant as a late riser normally! I'm hoping once I have recovered normal service will be resumed.

While OH was at the funeral I went to the library. I managed to get one of the 2 disabled spaces meaning I had more room to open my door and manoeuvre out. I had a nice chat with staff and treated myself to tea and buttered scone in the cafe.

Tired now so off to bed. Good night all.

Good morning everyone , I feel like this bear this morning, it’s so dark and wet you don’t feel like getting up do you.

Ive done a dark wash and dried it now ready to iron.
Usual housework and that’s me done.

              Nanto
Have a lovely time your missing nothing here except storms 😁

              Gem
I bet you felt like you had escaped being able to go out and have a cup of tea and a chat 😁
              Hope you slept wellxx

Hope no one has any damage from the storms overnight ,
Next door has a small tree in the front garden it looks like it’s tilting , luckily towards their drive not our car
The wind is very strong still.

                Good morning everyone.

Good to see you Nan2. Keep enjoying your holiday!

It is stormy isn't it Oma? No damage here as far as I can see
I think it will be a long time before I slept well unfortunately, but upwards and onwards!

OH is going shopping this morning but I think I will stay here. I don't feel ready for a supermarket trip yet!
I want to drop GS1's card and present off after school or this evening. It's his birthday tomorrow and we are going out for tea then, but I want him to have his things for his birthday morning.

Good Friday morning, everyone. Dare I say it's sunny here - at this moment. I don't think it will last, but so far we're escaping the storms (fingers firmly crossed!)

Gem, I think you're brave doing the library trip but I'm sure it did you good to do something 'normal'. Is GS1 having a party tomorrow?

Oma, I agree, when the weather's that dismal you just want to stay in bed! I hope the neighbour's tree survives. Yes, I think it's time for a new toothbrush. I thought the same as Gem - I hope the neighbours couldn't hear it rattling away like that. We got new electric toothbrushes a few months ago - our old ones weren't holding the charge for more than a day but we'd had them for a long time.

Nanto, it's lovely to hear that your holiday is going well. I hope the sun's shining for you as well. We look forward to hearing all about it when you get back home. xx

The poor Sainsbury's delivery driver was treated to the scary sight of me sporting my cuddly dressing gown and wearing bed hair this morning. He did apologise for turning up early! OH has gone out on various shopping missions, all for things for the kit car, ie driving round from one place to another to get 'impossible' items. And the window cleaner's just turned up as well. I'll go and make him a coffee. Apparently we're the only people to offer him a drink on this particular round, so I'm glad I'm in for him this time.

We have had rain but has stopped at the moment. Can’t decide whether to go out and shop for a few items (only milk is urgent) or wait until I have a few more items. Oh that settles it, have just checked and I do not have a milk in the freezer. A trip to M&S down the hill or up to the parade is necessary now.

Nanto, you have chosen a good week to go away, very miserable weather here. Enjoy your holiday

Gemini, you are doing the right thing by gradually easing yourself into daily life. Keep it up

Daisy I think GS's party is in the morning, then a late afternoon family tea out ( to fit in with the youngest family member)

I'm sure your window cleaner was very glad for his coffee .

It's flipping wild wet and cold here, make the most of the better weather! I came with OH so I could pop into Card Factory for a birthday balloon whilst OH went to Tesco next door. I'm in the car now but it's still cold!

Hallo, very wet here, dull! Daisy, I am the same as you, make coffee for the window cleaners or whoever is working up here.

I don't forget DH, I always tell GD1 she made a sad day into a happy one!

I have made pumpkin soup, one of the ladies at the art group gave us all a good tip, cook the pumpkin in a hot oven for 20 minutes then it is much easier to cut. We all said the same, they are very difficult to chop, not when they have been in the oven.

I have been busy making a calendar for next year, it takes me ages to make then start and then I enjoy doing it all. It is ready to order now so I have got that done with!

we used to make one every year for family with the grandchildren pictures . Never made one for years now though.

The storm is so bad its actually ripped the top of one of our lighthouses at South shields the waves are enormous,

We know it was raining at home. We got an alert when the postman was delivering. We could see it was wet.

Oma, my friend lives near Aberdeen, on the coast, they have a red alert! The wind must be strong to rip the top off a lighthouse!

I always made albums for the GC, calendar for myself from combinations of photo's.
