Morning ladies , everyone sounds busy today ,
Waiting for SIL to walk the Dog over , DD still unwell and by sounds of it SIL must be taking the day off as he usually drops dog off on way to work in the Van ,

Sun is out but been in the garden clearing leaves away and its bitter cold .

I am pleased I got a long bike ride in yesterday, it was a lovely day, I went to the goat farm and got cheese, for my neighbour as well, she told me it was very good as they make it themselves. It is as well. She was really pleased with it, her best friend had died yesterday morning, only 62 years old, so she was still upset.

Nanto, what a shame you and the family had to put in the skip things you thought were too good to throw away. Did you find anything you or your family could find a home for?

I am hoping to plant the bulbs and pansies I bought yesterday. They are going into pots in the courtyard. I also bought some cyclamens although I haven’t had much success with those in the past. It is sunny so must get a shift on

Good Morning ladies I have been off line for a day or so due to Openreach doing work locally and managing to disconnect everyone all is restored now thank goodness.

Belated Birthday wishes Mimi I hope you managed to enjoy the day in the end.

WeeGranny its good to hear OH has an improved appetite and enjoying his food it sounds a very caring place he is at.

Gemini so sorry to hear your news about the house sale what is wrong with people they must have spent a small fortune on survey's etc have they given a reason for pulling out so late .

It has not stopped raining since yesterday,I was in and out twice bringing washing in and gave up in the end I had washed two of my jackets and trying to get them dried so I could pack them away for the winter they are now drip drying in the bathroom.

I am having terrible trouble getting Oliver to stay in of an evening the past 2 x nights I have been out calling him in at 10-11pm but I can't find where he has been hiding but he has been in through the cat door by the morning,I have checked with Jim and he has not been creeping in to his bungalow so goodness knows where he is going to.

Whilst the internet has been off I have attacked the ironing and said goodbye to a couple of kingsize quilt covers they are the pain of my life I've also washed and hope to put away quite a few summer tops when they have dried off so maybe tomorrow will be another ironing day for me.

This afternoon I am going to the nail salon to see my lovely lady who keeps my nails looking good I have not been for 5/6 weeks and I enjoy the relaxing time I have there.

Hoping everyone is well and managing to get topped up with petrol for all your holidays & appointments its not too bad here I have not seen any queue's just a notice on the forecourt only allowing £30 per car which I think is fair.

Well what an afternoon it was here. Talk about a houseparty.
Hubby's sister came with her hubby. Then 2 of his brothers came with their partners.
Copious amount of tea and coffee were drunk and loads of cakes and biscuits eaten.
It was lovely to have a get together,even though it was unexpected.

Nanto - what a great afternoon you've had. I love days like that - especially if I happen to have cake to hand as well!! I'm sure all OH's siblings and OHs had a great time. A busy work day for your GD, but at least she's got the week-end to look forward to. x

Glamm - Does Oliver wear a collar? If so would you be able to attach a note to it asking if anyone is feeding him, or put his photo on you local social network groups and ask? I'm sure you can't help worrying about him when he's not responding to you calling him. What a nuisance your internet was down - we use it for so much, don't we! I should think you're ready for a bit of pampering at the nail salon after all that washing and ironing.

How is Jim getting on?

Plant - I haven't had much luck with cyclamen either, but I do love them. We're also still waiting for Open Reach to deliver on their promises for Fibre to the Property. Nothing seems to be happening!

Lizzie - you seem to have a gift for searching out really lovely plants, flowers and edible goodies. Your poor neighbour must be so sad about her friend.

Gem - was OH able to get her car filled up ok? Our village petrol station was busy this morning, but looked much quieter when I went past at lunch-time. Was it quieter than usual at the library?

The traffic today was much quieter than usual - both going to French class this morning and in completely the opposite direction for dog training this afternoon. There were 5 new people at French today, so we spent some time going back over last week, which was fine - a bit of revision's good. There were two extra dogs at training this week - Eva knows both of them, but she was a bit unsettled. I've been persuaded that I need to trust her more and take her to the next level - working off lead most of the time. She does some things off-lead but this is another step - hopefully forwards!

We've had a lovely sunny day today, but the warmth has gone. OH got lots of gardening done though and tomorrow I'll redo the edge of the lawn.

Its raining and very dark here ,
We have Storm again this morning DD has to go into work to train somebody even though she isnt feeling great

Man coming to sort Oven out between 8-10 it decided on Tuesday it will only heat up when it wants too and then turns itself off ,
sick of ovens pay a small fortune and they still play up
Dont know what it is with ovens and us

On top of that we have a New Fridge being delivered sometime today , ours now has to have the fast freeze put on to maintain the temp, mind you we have had it at least 15 years ,
Its had parts renewed like door and inside shelves but never had a problem keeping it cold before so a new one was on the cards ,

Good Thursday morning everyone, and the last day of September!

Nanto - I bet you're ready for a quieter day today. Perhaps it will brighten up a bit later.

Oma - I hope DD doesn't have a long day if she's not feeling well. You don't have much luck with ovens, do you! We've vaguely looked at changing our, but it works - it's a very basic gas oven - and hearing tales like yours puts me off getting a more modern one. I hope they can get it sorted today. Mind you, a 15 year old fridge isn't bad - it's done you proud. Are you getting a fridge or a fridge-freezer?

It's dull here but dry at the moment, so I'll try and get some work done in the garden. I think I might have to seed it again - I shoo'ed 4 jackdaws off this morning, and I think their friends had been there before them!!

Nasty wet and rainy morning here.
My eye is a bit improved with the cream but still not right. I suppose I will have to wait until the 5 day course is up.
I spoke to the estate agents about mums house possibly going for auction yesterday. I will write more about this in that thread later.
I must get a move on as we have a committee meeting at 9.30 and I want to be there early. First one in the library. We had to hire the Costa meeting room in the past as there was no space to meet when we were using the mobile bus (Costa room is unavailable now anyway, due to no ventilation)

Good morning. Oma, I hope your oven can be repaired, my fridge is 16 years old, I keep looking at a new one, it is a built one in so could need help, I think as long as this one does its work it can stay.

It is dry but dull at the moment. No rain forecast, that is for tomorrow. We did have a thunder storm when I went to bed last night.

Daisy, Eva is doing well, the jackdaws will think you are feeding them with the grass seed. My neighbour is upset about her friend, very young. In this area we have a lot of growers Daisy, always good for fresh flowers etc. I am going for a bike ride and will see if the amaryllises are ready but I think that is next month.

Nan, you would enjoy all the company yesterday.

I have just got home, with roses as the amaryllises go on sale from tomorrow, I got some tomatoes etc but it was very cold on the bike.

Nanto, Your family gathering sounded just what you all needed. How is Fil, mixed feelings I imagine, pleased she is not suffering anymore and missing her.

Gem, sounds like a busy day for you. I hope the agent can offer some advice, you can’t keep having these worrying disappointments. I hope your eye gets better soon. I had a painful eye last week, for several days it felt like I had a piece of grit in it and it was pink, better now.

Lizzie, it must be lovely having so many growers close by, lots of lovely vegetables and plants

I have Aqua this morning, outside bowls this afternoon but the weather doesn’t sound promising. . I have some wallflowers to plant if the rain keeps off.

Daisy our oven is a Neff hide and slide door one , you know the type the door when open slides under the oven , wasn't cheap so expected it to be better than average ,
Anyway man has been out and its a small fan on the top that has stopped working meaning when the oven get to temp its turning off for safety ,
He has ordered a new one and will fit it on Tuesday , said its a small job but makes a vast difference with the workings of a oven

Just getting a under counter Fridge we have separate Fridge and Freezer as we have no room for a big Fridge/freezer unit .

Those Jackdaws will have feasted on the grass seed naughty birds

Lizzie enjoy the bike ride while its fine weather x

Gem it may be the quickest and less stressful way of selling your Mums house , can you put a reserve on it as you don't want it going too cheap .
Hope the eye is improved for the weekend , why do these things always happen when your about to go away
