Good morning Nanto and everyone who follows.
Sadly, I spoke too soon yesterday when I said we had a rare free week-end. The Police arrived on our doorstep just as we were having dinner - not long after I'd had a chat with Sunshine, to tell me that my cousin had suffered a heart attack and passed away. After a lot of phone calls I was able to speak to a nurse who had been on duty when he was taken to A&E - she was so kind and helpful, but there's nothing we can do until the Office opens on Monday. It's a four hour drive, but as I'm his next of kin I think we'll have to go up there . We were going to visit him in September, and I feel so sad that it's now too late.

Its very wet and overcast , well it would be its the Sunderland Air show it always pee's down when that's on . Half the displays always get cancelled
We were up early so I decided to dismantle my cooker hood and give that a good clean and change the filter I washed all kitchen cupboard doors down yesterday but that was niggling me so its done and out of the way ,
We then went to the Polish Deli not far from us about 10 mins drive they are having a German weekend so we have came back with lots of goodies ,
German Mustard was top of B's list you cant get it hear, German sausage and some lovely smoked ham very thin slices that goes well on Bagel with cream cheese or on its own with Rye bread ,
We call in when we can its only a small deli but they cram a lot in and the owner Anna works very hard , she's only 33 and has children but her and her husband and her sister work long hours . we try to support local shops when we can they haven't been open more than a year but their client base is huge now , she was telling us today she now has requests for on line shopping that they are seriously thinking of doing , also thinking of expanding into next doors empty shop but they don't want to run before they can walk so to speak .

Good morning everyone.
I'm very sorry about your cousin Daisy.
It's all babies in your extended family Oma
Have a lovely day in lovely Whitby Nan2.
The car alarm went off again (covered in a thread on This and That) we were then awake for ages and considered getting up at 5 am. However OH went to sleep I read a bit and went back to sleep, and we didn't wake again until nearly 1o! OH has a round of golf planned with a friend at 3. I am going over to my mums early afternoon then coming back home some TV catchup, as it is not an outdoor day. Grey gloomy, wet and much cooler.
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the cooler temperatures.āA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.ā ā Unknown

Hello Ladies, you have all been in my thoughts this past week or so even though I havenāt posted on here. Iām having to come to terms with this blinking arthritis, itās stopped me getting out and about. Iām ok if we go somewhere by car but walking any distance is hard at the moment and itās not helped that I am having to change the way I eat with a knife and fork as my fingers seem to have come out in sympathy with my toes !
Enfys I want you to know that you are always in my thoughts, sending you so much comfort and support x
Daisy what a shock that must have been x
Nan2 have a lovely day in Whitby , donāt forget to get some fish and chips, hope the weather keeps dry
Oma congratulations on the news of another baby Christmas is going to be expensive in your house.
(Sorry for the C word but I had a flipping catalogue come through the post , with āshop early for Christmas on the front cover and I think itās on my mind ! )
We went to eldest GS ās 18th birthday party last week, it was planned for outside eating and live music but the heavy rain put paid to that so we were all crammed into the pubās conservatory but a good time was had by all .
Hope all you lovely ladies are well
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Grauntie - yes, I must have posted while you were typing.
Mimi - Arthritis is such a horrible thing. Does yours flare up or it it painful all the time? Is it affected by the weather?
Qwerty - good to hear you're getting some rest. How are your ankles now?
Thank you all for your kind comments. I do feel sad, and while I was sorting out some paperwork I found an old family photo with one man I didn't recognise. My first thought was 'cousin D will know'. It's funny how things like that hit you.
Nanto - did you get your Whitby fish and chips?
It's been mainly sunny here today, although much cooler but still warm enough for shorts and too hot to walk Eva. She'll be forgetting what walkies are at this rate. She's going to stay with DS2 and Cooper while we're in Stoke, so she'll get plenty of exercise then. It's been a good drying day with a good breeze - all the towels have had a good blow on the line.

Evening everyone.
Daisy,so sorry to hear your bad news.
Had a lovely day in Whitby.
It was cloudy but mild and it was dry.
Didn't have fish and chips,as we had them yesterday.
We went to a cafe run by three girls.
The eldest 2 were about 18ish and a younger one about 16ish,who took customers orders.
Food was lovely and the cafe shone like a new pin.
One of my tests for a cafe is seeing what the loo is like.
It was sparkling from top to bottom.
When we got home, crossing the road to the car park,it felt like winter.
Although in the car it felt warm. We knew it was raining heavily here, hubby's brother rang us.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Mimi good to see you. We fully understand when our members have quiet phases, but are very pleased to see them posting again I do sympathise with you with the arthritis, I have it in knees and neck, fingers must be so hard.
Good to know your GD's 18th went well, despite the weather.
Welcome back from Whitby Nan2!
It's been a darkish day here, but it hasn't rained all day, just a couple of drizzly showers.
OH and friend had a go on the driving range (it turns out that is all the friend had wanted recovering from a shoulder injury)
I spent an hour or 2 with my mum then caught up in a couple of programmes. I had planned to to iron whilst watching, but guess what? I did not.
I am having to post from my phone using my 4G as the wi fi is not connecting at all tonightāA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.ā ā Unknown

Thank you all for your kind words - it means a lot. Clover, unfortunately when there's a policeman on your doorstep at 8.30 in the evening you know it's not going to be good news, but it was awful because he hadn't got clear details and had to ask me a lot of questions first, before he told me about my cousin.
Gem - fancy leaving your ironing! Tut Tut (she says, ignoring 3 baskets full at her feet). I hope your mum was ok. Posting from a phone is much harder and slower, isn't it!
Nanto - glad you had a lovely day and how lovely to hear about three teenagers doing so well and running a very nice cafe. I agree about the toilets!
