Mimi, i've had all kinds of kitchen gadgets, and then got rid of them.
But,the slow cooker is one thing i wouldn't be without.

Well its coming to something, when we need the heating on in the middle of June.
I know that 50 years ago,it was red hot,for the last few days of my first pregnancy.

I had to go to the local hospital first thing so didn't get on very early. The heavens opened when I was going in and coming out of the hospital. Had to break off, GS3 came to visit, he is bored at home on his own. GD1 now showing him the cabin she and boyfriend are living in.

Hope your mother is up to visiting your sister Gemini. Remind me where and when you are going on holiday. Lovely to have a good chat with a friend.

WeeGranny, I used to love watching the children perform, sometimes helped with scenery and costumes.

Nice to hear from you Mimi

Have fun with the dogs Daisy, I bet Cooper enjoys his visits with you. Is he very big now?

Mimi - thank you for asking about my OH. He had another injection in his eye on Monday. It's still very red and rather sore, but it will gradually improve - until the next time.

Plant - Cooper is a very big Vizsla - he weighs over 30 kg (Eva is 22kg) and quite well built. Most are much daintier than him. Long legs, huge paws, but has hopefully stopped growing upwards, although he might gain muscle bulk.

WeeGranny - how lovely to watch the children perform. I bet they enjoyed it just as much as their audience. Good luck with your shopping, and no bouncing on the mattresses.

Nanto - the year my DS1 was born was quite warm, and the day he arrived was hot and sunny. What a pity GS's girlfriend has hurt her back - I hope she's soon better.

Enfys - P did so well yesterday, but I should think you're both ready for a quiet day today. It's just stopped raining here, but the garden is very wet.

Well, one success, got a mattress! We like different firmness, so one side soft (him) other side firmer (me) and never the twain shall meet! After spending goodness knows how long looking at televisions it was rather nice to lie down !! Decided we need to measure space before we buy TV as all the modern ones seem huuuuuuuge!
Rain stopped, sun peeped out and disappeared again......and rain has started again!

I had a lovely day in Exeter with M, she chose lots of new clothes for the impending holiday. Me I got nothing except a pack of batteries . The weather was vile and too cap it all the bus broke down on our return journey, so we were an hour later getting back. I am ready for a nice, relaxing bath and an early night. Loving the handbag Oma.

WeeGranny - one out of two is good going! It's not easy when you like or need different types of mattresses. We switched to memory foam a few years ago after we bought an expensive mattress that I couldn't sleep on. OH thought it was wonderful.

Libra - I bet M loved your shopping trip, despite the weather and the bus breaking down. I think you've earned a relaxing evening.

I took Cooper back to DS2 and they have had a cherry tree and a half dead conifer cut down (they were far too close to the house) and DS filled the back of my car with logs - some big enough for OH to turn, and others for the wood burner. So I've ended up washing all the dog bedding he'd put them on - I hope Eva appreciates it next time she rides in my car.

It's been raining off and on all day - again. I'm getting really fed up with it now. I was hoping to plant my tomatoes tonight but it's too wet.

Daisy J will be over the moon to get Cherry tree wood

Libra GS1 going on Saturday with his two friends for Holiday clothes , costing DD a fortune they not cheap when they growing so fast and he has expensive taste , Now you just have other one to buy for , we never have money when we have GC

WG buying a mattress has to be the most difficult thing to buy doesn't it , we like Daisy ended up with a memory foam , although I do find them hot even the air control ones , hope you both like it when you get it

Plant hope you had a brolly with you , poor GS at least GD occupied his time for a while , she sounds very proud of her cabin

Nanto it was very hot this time 46 years ago too when I had my DD it was the heatwave of 73 where have those lovely summers gone .

                    Good morning all.
It is hardly worth commenting on the rain, it is permanent fixture now it seems

GS2 day here, GD from school.

Have a good one, and if you have sun, enjoy it!

Good morning everyone. It's quite windy here at the moment, but I'm sure rain isn't far away!

Gem, enjoy your day with GS2 and then GD later on. It looks as though it may be a day of indoor fun and games. How were your mum and sister yesterday?

Oma -, yes, J is pleased with his cherry wood. DS2 has put an order in for a bowl from it when it's ready for turning!

Nanto, I hope your in laws are ok. Do they get fed up with wet weather, or doesn't it bother them?

Tomorrow OH is going drifting with DS1. I had this picture in my mind of a punt on the River Cam, floating gently beneath the dappled shade of graceful willows .... errrr, no! It looks like a testosterone-fuelled boys' day out. Having said that the only person I've ever met who is a professional drifter was a girl! So we're going up to DS1's at lunch-time today, so OH can take his car back to the garage for a quick check up, and they can have an early start tomorrow. DIL and I are planning a relaxed more girly day!

Oma - good luck with your trip to the hospital. Hopefully they'll give you a clean bill of health and send you away again. xx

Drifting Daisy? what is that. Hope they enjoy it anyway and you have a lovely girly day.

Shopping for me (food) but a trip to the tip first, car loaded yesterday but GS's visit was more enjoyable. I am fed up with drawing the curtains and seeing yet another dreary day. Had a lovely evening at the evening WI as a guest on their birthday, lovely nibbles and a choir entertained us.

Hope your trip to the hospital goes well Oma

Libra, I can't believe you came back with nothing, you are the girl who came back with a handbag in Birmingham.

Daisy is drifting where they are on a race track and they race around and the back end of the car drifts or is that something else ?

Not sure what drifting is,but hope they enjoy it.

Enfys, hope all went/goes well at the hospital.
