Oma, I asked DDs not to tell them yet ,as today is too soon for me to talk about it. If they ask we will say she is at the vet.
I'm very glad to have a busy day to take my mind off things.

Good morning everyone. It's dull and drizzly here, and quite humid.

OH is still at DS1's, waiting for his wretched car which is now on its third day of being in the garage. He rang first thing to wish me happy birthday, and we're really hoping the car will be back on the road by tonight. If not he'll have to come home in the rickety car the garage have lent him because we've got the family coming for a barbecue tomorrow! Oma - it will be chores for me today, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow!

Gem - I woke up thinking about you. I'm sure all you want to do is have a quiet day with your thoughts, but perhaps it's good that you've got three little (or not so little) live wires to take you mind off things. Sending hugs. xxx

Oma - what is it about fish and chips that smells so wonderful. Nanto - do you have salt and vinegar on yours?

Plant - will it take long to get your phone replaced? There's so much choice these days - it's bewildering.

Clover - I meant to say yesterday how glad I was that all your tests have come back clear. Just a random thought - have you talked to your Pilates teacher about it - she may be able to suggest something like a special relaxation routine that might help. I would have loved to see your neighbour's face when you gave her the roses - I bet it made her day. It was such a kind gesture.

I am sure you are still feeling upset about your dear puss Gemini, she has been part of your life for a long time.

I hope the new table passes B's inspection Oma.

I need to go and check out a new mobile today, just sent a message to eldest GS to ask his advice, it is a bit of a minefield for me to choose. I would like to stay with EE as they are sending me a new sim card so I won't have to change my number. Of course I realise that they want me to stay with them. DD and Sil have gone to Anglesey for the weekend with Sil's brother, his wife and Sil's sister. They left very early this morning, will be back Sunday evening. GS2 is coming back for the weekend. All coming and going in this house.

Well where is the promised heatwave, damp and dreary here. The only bonus is no watering the garden except for baskets. It's an easy day for us after yesterday's trip to see DD, a quick trip to Morrisons for the weekend fruit and veg and that's us done for today. Hubs bought me a new sun chair 🤞 I get to relax in it tomorrow with a good book. The other Nanna has had the girls since Wednesday, so no child care until Monday. Not that I do much just drive into town to collect M from her school coach and she stays until Dad arrives. So sorry about your beloved cat Gem,always so difficult making that decision. Have a great birthday Daisy xx

            Good moaning each.
Gem, I’m sad for you. X
Plant, while we were in France OH lost his phone in a market. As luck would have it DD1 rang him and a lady answered it (in French). DD was able to grasp the gist of what had happened and rang me. OH rang his phone which was now in the Mayor’s office but they were closed for lunch so we went for a long lunch until the office reopened. He was so lucky!
LG, lovely to hear from you, I was wondering how you were.
Dull here too, planting out pots and tubs this morning (and supervising washing machine), cards this afternoon.
Enfys, Years ago I took delivery of a new car, 1st trip out I went to fill up and put unleaded fuel in to the top and then remembered it was diesel! I was not popular. If it makes you feel any better, it was ages before I used an ATM!
            Have a good day gels.

That was lucky Grauntie, I rang mine but I only had it on vibrate. Keep looking around the seats in the car, cross with myself for putting it in my cardigan pocket as I didn't have my handbag with me. I have been to Carphone Warehouse and the Iphone7 is going to cost me £409 + insurance+calls. Apple Iphones are very overpriced but I need one as it will be compatible with my Ipad. I wonder if any of the family want to upgrade, then I can buy theirs. Passing around the hat ladies.

Gem I’m so,so sorry about your little cat. I hope you cope with the three GC .They’ll certainly keep you occupied.

Plant I hope you can get a new phone that suits you. I wouldn’t have a clue where to start. My DS1 bought me mine and SIL set it up for me.

Isn’t it lovely to hear from Libra again

After an overcast start the day is turning out warm and sunny. Hope it’s the same with you.

We seem to be sharing Libra's weather - after a brief 'hello' from the sun, it's overcast and cool. I hope we get our promised heatwave for tomorrow. Libra - I hope you get some sun so you can try out your new garden chair. Clover - send the sun over this way if you can, please.

Plant, I've lost my phone several times with it falling out of a shallow pocket down the side of an armchair or in the car. That sounds quite expensive for an iphone7, but then I think the iphone X (ten) is more like £1,000! I bought my iphone new about 4 or 5 years ago, and don't have a contract - I use Giff Gaff whose 'goody bags' (packages) start at £5 or 6 a month, no contract and you can increase or decrease anytime, even part way through a month. I've just had a quick look online and you can get refurbished, unlocked iphone7 for about half that, depending on the amount of storage. But if you would rathr have a brand new one then I do't suppose there's much leeway in pricing, unless the Apple Store is cheaper.

Grauntie - your OH was very lucky to get his phone back, but it's so easy to misplace them. You're not the only one to put the wrong fuel into their car - my OH did it as well. I'm also sure it's something I'll do one day, although OH usually kindly fills mine up.

Oma - has the new table passed inspection - I do hope so.

Nanto - I hope the mammogram wasn't too painful. It's one time when having a bit 'up top' is an advantage, but I still find it very uncomfortable.

Mammogram didn't feel as uncomfortable as it usually does.
She did say, because of my age,i won't be called again, but i can make an appoinment in 3 years time if i want.
Can also ring for an appointment if i have any concerns.

Oma, in laws were ok.Yes,fish and chip day. We dropped theirs off on way home.
Does the table meet with B's approval.

Plant, have you got a new phone yet.

Nice to see Libra popping in.

Waiting for GS1 to get in touch about buying a new phone, he must be away as is not responding to my messages. I don't think there is any decision to make really, I need an Iphone, they cost £409 so I must bite the bullet and go for it. I am going to visit JL 15 mins away and see what they have to say.

I'm glad the mammogram was less painful Nan2.

Rather a strange birthday for you Daisy I imagine! I hope tomorrow's bbq is lovely.

OH, the children and I went out for lunch, then to the park. They all get on well, but 3 year old GS wants 6 year old to play with him more than the 6 year old wants to play with him! He loves his little cousin, but has outgrown 3 year old games. They do both love playing Billy Goats Gruff on the climbing frame bridge though 😊

We didn't sleep too well last night, so I'm off to my bed now.

                            Goodnight everyone. Sweet dreams

Gem - you've got through today, but I'm sure it was hard at times. Going out was a good idea. I do hope you sleep better tonight.

We have had a similar experience about age differences with GDs - GD1 is nearly 9 and GD2 is 5 1/2, but since GD2 started school last September the gap seems to have narrowed in terms of playing together. There are still differences, but they have more common ground, and I'm sure that will get better as they get a bit older. Also GD2 is well able to stick up for herself when necessary.

It's been a bit of a non-birthday really, Gem. Although some friends called round at lunch-time and we ended up working our way rather effortlessly through a bottle of wine, which was very nice. OH is home, but his car is still not fixed. This means he'll have to go back next week, and we still can't plan any trips in the caravan. They are now saying there's a rattle in or around the gear box!

Plant - I hope your GS1 can give you some help with your phone.

Plant have you decided on what phone are going to get

Enfys hope P is feeling better today.

Well it’s supposed to be a nice day today which is good as I still have some plants to go out in the garden, some of them are a little on the small size . I don’t know why they are taking so long to flourish as my veg plants are coming along leaps and bounds. We’ve been eating home grown lettuce for a couple of weeks now, we have tomatoes and strawberries all in fruit , it’s just the flowers that are holding back.

DS will be here today for lunch.
He had to find an emergency dentist ( been nagging him for ages he should register with a dentist but they never listen do they ) yesterday as he was in a lot of pain. Turns out he had to have a tooth out . I bet this doesn’t encourage him to find a NHS dentist, DC, they never learn do they ?

Have a lovely weekend lad, enjoy the sunshine while it lasts as next week is supposed to be a wash out
Bring me sunshine in your smile.
