Thanks Gem. I'll send the links onto DDs as they're great fans too.

I don't recall it being mentioned on here but is anyone aware that J K Rowling has arranged H P books to be read by a selection of celebrities? I caught a preview of Harry Potter ( Daniel Radcliff) reading the 1st chapter of the 1st book. Enjoyably weird. If anyone has a link for it could they put it on here please? Thanks.

I only have the final book to read. As I finished a book last night, I may begin tonight.

I gave myself a little time to get over the demise of Dumbledore before feeling ready to carry on!

Well done, Gem - that's been quite a marathon read.

My GD1 told me she's read 57 books since lockdown. No doubt the count's gone up a bit since that was last week!

That's so true. I can totally lose myself in a book. My mother always used to say the house could fall down round me and I wouldn't notice.

Me too , I hear and see nobody and nothing if I'm in a good book . I
read a lot , not always what I call heavy reading I do like escapism sometimes something light and amusing

Read HP several times and the Twilight sagas several times .
I read my Kindle but DD who has always been a avid reader from a very young child , likes the feel of a real book .

Last night I finished the last Harry Potter book.
Time for something a bit more lighthearted now I think! I have loved re reading them (and reading in the case of the later ones which I only saw on film) A good lockdown activity.

Gem - so in years to come when someone asks you what you did in the Great 2020 Lockdown you'll be able to say you read all of the Harry Potter books from cover to cover. Well done!

What are you going to ready next?

Well I started one last night, I forget the title some cold case detective thing! I read several other books between the HPs as the later ones can be quite emotionally draining so you need a change

I've been reading very light stuff through lockdown - escapist books.

Sorry to say the whole HP experience has held no interest for me but perhaps I”ll try a bit harder now I know you ladies are so fond of it.😀

Clover. I would advice you not to read them just yet. Too much darkness and sadness as the story continues, for someone at your stage of loss is my opinion.

Amazingly worth it at the right time (and the overall message is goodness and kindness will win!)
Not the style of books for everyone though.

I'm currently reading "Maybe One Day" by Debbie Johnson. I've read a few of her books, mainly the feel-good "Comfort Food Cafe" series. Although this one starts with a funeral and some deep family secrets are are moments of humour too.

Thanks for that Gem. I didn’t realise they could be like that.I know some youngsters love them too so I thought they were mostly light hearted.
