In the world of Harry Potter

When we went into lockdown I bought the full set of Harry Potter books on my Kindle. I have seen all the films and read most but not all the books. I wanted to reread the books I have read and read the rest.

Recently I started them. I am totally immersed and again completely amazed by JK Rowling's talent and imagination. I am almost at the end of book 3. I think I will take a little break from the world of Hogwarts and read something else before I continue.
It can get intense if you go from one to the other.

I am enjoying them so much, money well spent, especially at this time.

Gem - that's great that you're enjoying reading and rereading the Harry Potter books.

I've only read a couple of them, so perhaps it's something to think about revisiting. I need to stock my Kindle up in the next week or so.

You went to the Studios too I seem to remember Gem. I'm not sure whether to go or not as I don't want to spoil the magic. I've had the HP audio for a while, read by Stephen Fry. Superb. As you know I have a passion for art & have a great illustrated book showing the characters creation. My oldest GS loves it too.

Does it not spoil the magic Enfys?

I have been to the Studios near London, and the whole Kings Cross/ Diagon Alley/ Hogsmead area in Universal Studios Florida.
            All amazing.

It only adds to the magic Nana.

I've decided against it up to now Gem as I like for my mind to do most of the work, ie. to picture in my imagination how it's created in J K's mind rather than to walk amongst a set. Hard to explain, as I know it's all fictional.🤭

Nana, I didn’t find that Nana. I just found it incredible to be in the Great Hall, see the Weasleys kitchen and actually spot the Sorting Hat high on a shelf in Dumbledores study. Still magical. Seeing the model of Hogwarts was incredible...a little girl near me was so overcome she was in tears, I was nearly too. Absolutely magical.

                    ps....I still think it’s all real 😀

It is magical isn't it Enfys?
DD3 and I went together a few years ago. She was 10 when the first book came out and was the generation that queued (with her Dad) outside Waterstone's waiting for each new book to be released over the years. Then they read them all night so as not have anyone else finish first and tell them anything!
Her generation 'grew up' with Harry, Hermione etc and are mostly big fans. She loved the studios, and we both sampled Butterbeer

GD, 10 is a very big fan. I think she would change her name to Hermione if she could! Her parents took her to the studios for her 10th birthday and she loved it. She was very excited to be going to Universal and us riding the Hogwarts Express, but of course that has been put on hold for now.

For some, like Nana it won't be the thing. JK wouldn't let anything which wasn't perfect be done in her name though, so anyone else considering it, you wont be disappointed.

                      ........Of course it's real Enfys

Gem, I can remember rushing to get one of the later books and having to queue. I got chatting (as you do) to a couple of other older ladies in the queue and said I was buying it for my grandaughter.....we later all confessed that we were in fact buying it for ourselves. 😀

I confess to have never read a HP book, my GD1 is a real fan and has been to the studios twice, she has wands etc. I suppose the books came out at the right time for her she is 25? now.

I read a couple of the first books in the early days, but never really fell in love with them. Perhaps I should re-visit them.

                              Never tried reading the books.
When i worked full time at the school.we took quite a few kids to Sheffield to see the first Harry Potter film.
It was the longest 2½/3 hours of my life. I'm sure i couldn't sit through one the films.
