I spoke to the birthday boy this morning. He was very excited. He had a quick visit to see daddy in the day room at the hospital this morning . Then GS2 and DIL were off to the Natural History Museum until proper visiting time this afternoon. My son is doing OK. He is out of the HDU ward now and onto a normal ward. They are trying to feed him up, he has lost a lot of weight over the last couple of weeks. He now has every excuse to eat too much birthday cake.
Thankyou all for the good wishes and the lovely picture from Daisy. ππAlways face the sunshine and the shadows fall behind you.

Thankyou everyone. GS2 enjoyed his day, so did DS and DIL. GS told me The Natural History Museum is awesome!
They are hoping DS can come home on Wednesday when the course of intravenous antibiotics is finished. That is the plan anyway, but if the infection is still rife then DS will need another course and may have to stay for another week. Fingers crossed he will be well enough to just continue with oral antibiotics after Wednesday. The steroids are making DS feel hungry, so thatβs good. Maybe he will get his appetite back and put on some weight!Always face the sunshine and the shadows fall behind you.

Sunshine - tell you little gS that I think the Natural History Museum is awesome, too!
Everything crossed for DS coming home on Wednesday. I'm sure it would do him good to gain a bit of weight.

GS had a lovely birthday. He enjoyed the Natural History Museum, although he said the Science Museum was even better. He had a lovely birthday tea in the hospital ward with daddy and mummy. I DS came home on Wednesday. He is off the intravenous antibiotics and just taking oral ones now along with steroids and usual meds. He is very glad to be home, sleeping in his own bed.
.I am going to Wales tomorrow for a few days. It is such a relief to know DS is on the mend. I will be able to enjoy the break and will see the family when I return. Phew!Always face the sunshine and the shadows fall behind you.

Sunshine - I'm so pleased to hear DS is back home. He'll sleep much better, I'm sure, and I know your DIL is very good at looking after him.
I'm sorry, I'd lost track of when you were going to Wales. Safe journey - relax (as much as you can) and enjoy your break. I hope the weather's kind to you. xx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
