    My Daughter

Yesterday my DD had surgery for the removal of a large cyst on her ovary which had also attached its self to the top of her womb.
We had to get her to admissions for 7am and she was lucky when we got there to be allocated a bed and told she would be first down to theatre at 9am, 4 ladies had their procedures cancelled after they had arrived due to staff shortage on the ward they must have been so upset after waiting so long for the procedure they where due to have.
We went to pick her up at 5pm and what a sad sorry state she was, we managed to get her into the front seat of the car and brought her home and put to bed,she then told me she had to inject herself everyday for a month with clot busting drug into her tummy or thigh just had a telephone call to say she cannot manage to do it so am taking her to Drs surgery to get nurse to do the deed, when she was shown how to do it she was still only 2 hrs out of surgery and full of drugs so she has not fully understood how to do it.
Her dad is off to pick her up to take her to surgery then bring her back here for me to look after her for the day,I have done a massive cook for the boys,scouse/cottage pies and chilli & rice so they don't starve over the next few days, in my opinion she should still be in hospital she looks so poorly but its the way things are now isn't it. xx

    Oh the poor thing Glamma
Patients are sent home far too soon these days. It sounds as though they discharged her far too early, considering these injections she has to learn how to do for herself.

Thank goodness she has such a good mum and dad.
    Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Glam its not easy injecting yourself , I had to learn to give B his injections in his tummy when he was on Chemo its very scary at first ,
They don't keep them in for longer than necessary now because of infection but I do think the same day as surgery is far to soon , poor girl she must feel miserable ,
I bet its a huge effort for her even getting dressed today , having Mum to look after her is just the ticket , I hope she recovers quickly xxx

Glamm, poor girl. She must be feeling dreadful so soon after major surgery. I can understand why they discharge so quickly, but at one time she would have been visited by a District Nurse the next morning and been shown how to do the injections when she was less woozy. Having to go to the doctors today will be very uncomfortable for her.

Thank goodness she's got her mum looking after her - and her boys.

Sending her best wishes for a speedy recovery. xx

Thanks ladies for your kind words I do understand why they send home early but when your child looks so poorly you forget all reason don't you.
I am just going to put fresh bedding on my bed and keep her here for the day when she comes back from Drs.

Hope your DD will feel stronger soon Glamm. Really there should have been a follow up with a District Nurse visit. I remember having to inject into my husbands tummy when he came out of hospital, not nice.

Being looked after by mummy is lovely at time like these Glamma, no matter how old they are!

Glamm I hope she is feeling better today.
2 hours out of surgery is hardly long enough to comprehend what the drs or nurses are telling you let alone how to inject yourself when you have never done anything like that before. Also we all differ from person to person as to the effect of anaesthetic has on us. I know all hospitals are struggling with bed space cutting corners like this surly is a health hazard

Oh dear Glam how unpleasant and upsetting for you as her mum , I see the reasons to get her out as quickly as possible , I had a bladder op and was sick as a dog from the anesthetic, they gave me a cardboard top hat to bring home as I was still being sick 🤢 in the corridor and in the car on the way home, it’s ridiculous.
I couldn’t give injections to save my life when my dil was having ivf she had to inject herself every day in a different place in the bum area, my OH had to go down and do it as she couldn’t reach that far behind her in the end and Ds couldn’t do it
I hope she pulls round tomorrow she needs sleep and tlc from mum , don’t worry too much Glam the worst hopefully is over now

You poor people. So many awful things happening now.
I’m just wondering what people do if they don’t have loving families to care for them.
                              Do hope she mends swiftly.
