I was so looking forward to getting my new glasses after the long haul with cataract operations/ complications etc. I had my eye test & chose glasses. I was so excited to think that I'd be able to see clearly again on my way to picking them up from the Opticians.
I tried them on in the shop (Vision Express) & was so disappointed. My eyes were trying really hard to work together. I could actually feel them straining. It seems there are prisms in both lens. One is pulling the muscles up in one eye whilst the other is pulling the muscles down in the other eye.
My distance glasses & Mid sight glasses came to £400+ so not cheap. I thought I'd treat myself after all the stress of four operations on my eyes. Spec fitting done I was encouraged to wear them to get used to them. I'd said about the trouble I was having but was reassured they would be ok once I got used to them.
To be honest I think I made a mistake choosing the frame I did. Never occurred to me that the wide sides would block my side vision. I left the shop wearing the glasses as advised...the floor was coming up to meet me & the headache was already starting. In the car I actually felt sea sick. By the time I went to bed I had a headache of mammoth proportions.
OH had to go into town to Drs so he kindly called into the shop to let the sales lady know. She said not to worry about the frame as that can be sorted, it's my eyesight she's more concerned about. She said for me to persevere with them for about two weeks.
I wondered if anyone has had a problem with new glasses & has tried for a refund? Their Terms & Conditions are online but all I can make out is that they apply to online purchases. Feeling really deflated & fed up with it all.
