Still, if the pain has eased you can relax until Tuesday when you see your own dentist. I hope the emergency lady was wrong about the other tooth needing to come out. Our dentist won't take a tooth out unless there is really no possible alternative. He was still upset about a patient of 102 needing an extraction after the first lockdown, saying if he'd been able to see her earlier he could have saved it! But I think that's the say most dentists think these days, so fingers crossed for your tooth. xx

Gem I hope the pain stays away and when you are able to see your usual dentist next week it won't be such a hurried appointment!

I went to the dentist last week, was expecting 4 fiiings but only had two as she said the other two teeth can wait until they have more time to fit me in as they are still dealing with a huge backlog of patients.
I'm not really happy with my treatment as when I eat now it feels ' odd. OH says its just my imagination but after 66 years I should be an expert on how my mouth and teeth feel when eating.,

Mimi - I agree. With all the experience you have of living with your own teeth you know when something's not quite right! But it may take a few days for those filled teeth to settle down again - I do hope so. You've got a busy enough week as it is this week I think! xx

I have a suspended treatment at my dentist, I need a crown on a back tooth, I paid a deposit of £100 then Covid came along and I wan't happy to continue with the treatment. I have had my hearing aids updated, glasses next, then I will contact the dentist to finish the treatment. I will then be a new woman apart from a few aches and pains which can't be fixed.

Plant - Maintenance of various bits of us seem to take up a lot of time these days, don't they. I commented to OH that the kitchen calendar for March was full of appointments - hearing test (OH), eye tests (both of us), collecting glasses(both) returning glasses (OH) retesting (OH) dental check up (me) hygienist (OH) hospital (OH) and one proper social 'date' - DS1 and DIL here for lunch last week!!

We're full-time jobs, aren't we!

Very good service from my (NHS) dentist yesterday.
I emailed reception in the morning, and they emailed me back. I was reassured that my swelling etc was normal so decided to wait until my appointment next Tuesday.

During the afternoon the dentist who did the extraction phoned me! He is going to phone again today just to check all is still OK
I call that service!!

I slept Ok thanks Oma.
I need painkillers when I wake up but that I think that's because I sleep mostly on that side. I just need to keep my tongue totally away from the whole area including the dodgy tooth next to it!!

Gem - what a wonderful dentist! It's very tempting to keep poking your tongue at anything unusual in your mouth, isn't it. Hard to resist. xx

Well, since I started this thread last April. I lost the tooth next to the one at the beginning of this thread a few weeks later. Then last Thursday unfortunately another one. A tooth which was mostly filling and finally had the last of it's 9 lives and developed a painful abscess under it.
I developed Dry Socket both times
I am going to the dentist tomorrow for the treatment.
