    Lawn horrors

For a variety of reasons we haven't been able to cut our back lawn for over 3 weeks. With the sunshine and showers it's grown, and grown, and grown until now it's got a 'comb over' . I've just trimmed the edges but it's too wet to mow. Why doesn't someone invent a hairdryer for lawns!!!

The council around ours seem only to cut the grass when its chucking down with rain so all the wet grass then gets dragged onto the road when they drive off the grassed area , but the grass survives ,
I suppose its not advisable with a electric mower though cutting wet grass

SIL was cutting ours when I got back. Today it has been lovely and sunny and quite warm.

Nothing worse than overgrown grass Daisy.

We no longer have a green lawn in our front garden , it is now brown with the odd bit of green here and there as OH has been scarifying the grass, he has removed all the dead grass and moss , this has taken weeks to do and yesterday he sowed grass seed over the entire 'lawn' so fingers crossed we get our lush green lawn back .

Our grass, can't call it a lawn, has had a growth spurt while my back's been turned! As soon as it is dry enough I'll have to tackle it.

Ours needs doing, and OH is in charge of a golf friends lawns and hedge while she and her husband are on holiday for almost 3 weeks.

Qwerty, OH says I never cut it short enough, but if I cut it too short it will be full of moss. As it is it's full of buttercups. You can't win! It doesn't get a great deal of sun at this time of year, so it never gets dry enough go cut properly and I hate to see it all chewed up be the mower.

The mower's petrol, so we're safe from electrocution.

Can you knock off the worst of the wet with a broom before you mow Daisy?

If you have your lawn!! laid on concrete, how does the water from rain drain away Oma?

Its on a very very slight tilt towards the fence Plant so drains to behind my fence where my brother put a soak away drain in

I think you might be able to do that round the edges, GM, but not towards the middle, and as soon as you stand on it it flattens the comb over and then the mower can't cut it!
