Libra looks like a solution can be found if vendors buy the freehold before selling to you.Fingers crossed. It sounds like a genuine mistake but nonetheless frustrating and worrying.Hope it gets sorted soon.

Your sellers seem to be keen to put things right LG, I hope it’s straightforward. We had the same request re electricity survey and we did the same as you. We also had a request for information about the footings of the conservatory! It was in place long before we moved in. Some solicitors just play for time. I think OH has threatened to pull out of every move we have made (they are many) to make them jump to it.
Good luck for a fairly stress free move.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.

Libra your sellers seem to be wanting to get things back on track and have completion date asap.there is always a hiccup somewhere along the line it justifies the solicitors fees I think.
When we sold our first house we had a surveyor requesting via solicitor a rention of £300 for the pointing of a dwarf wall at the front of the garden the wall was only about 20" high and 2 bricks needed cementing they where told in very uncertain terms where to go by hubby.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

Finally everything is going in the right direction, the Cornwall/Devon council have agree to the family buying the remainder of the freehold for which they will be liable for on completion. The council just want to revalue the property. The freehold becomes ours on completion. Our survey was good, only cosmetic stuff, surveyor said the property has been well looked after (if a little dated in my view). Just the search being done now and things should be ready to sign on the dotted line. Mind as I always say nothing final until the fat lady sings.
