Libra - I love that stage of planning what you want to do to a new home. Is this the one that needs a lot of updating? If so, what are you planning to do?

Lovely to put your own stamp on it, once you are settled as you say Libra.

All relevant paperwork done and returned to solicitor, our buyers are having their survey done on our place on Monday. We will then arrange one on the bungalow in Follaton. I have been amassing wallpaper samples for feature walls and looking up kitchen, bathroom fitters and garden landscapers. On our paperwork it says due date of completion 9th July, but very much doubt it will happen before end of July.

It's sounding optimistic, Libra. It would be nice if you can complete on 9th July, but as you say, that might be optimistic. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. xx

It sounds like quite an adventure. You have a good eye for decoration so I hope you'll enjoy it rather than it being a chore.

Making all those choices would be a nightmare for me Libra, you obviously love it. Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

As would only be normal for us we have hit a snag, our solicitor has been made aware that the bungalow we are buying has come up as leasehold. Was definitely advertised as freehold We now have legal peeps trying to unravel what's going on, if it is leasehold I am not interested and certainly not spending more money on buying said freehold. Then we had a request from our buyers solicitor wanting an electrical certificate, this is not a legal requirement so I said as they got our place for a fair price the answer is no, we do not have one and I am not spending £300 obtaining one, if they wish to do so by all means go ahead. So that's where we are at, until we hear from the legal eagles. If it goes pear shaped then so be it, I have told B I am not trawling around more property's I have no interest in.

Oh there are always snags aren't they Libra? How annoying.
This freehold/leasehold matter needs sorting out.
As you say the electrical certificate is not legal requirement so they can't expect you to get one.

Libra, as you know there are always hitches in house selling and purchasing but can't understand why the bungalow you are buying should be advertised as freehold if it is in fact leasehold.

I have spoken to the agents selling the bungalow,it comes to light the Daughter has been dealing with it and the other family members thought the freehold had been purchased. If it is't then they would buy the freehold and it would legally become our on completion, I want that in writing well before signing any contracts I have informed them.
