As I've mentioned in other posts, I'm trying to use acrylic paints - thank heaven for YouTube videos, but there's a long way to go. I enjoyed doing this one because I love the sea, but lots to learn.

Beautiful Daisy ,
i remember doing one similar many moons ago maybe a bit smaller than that and using a tooth brush to flick to get sand effect but it got lost in our move , like a few things I think it was put in a charity bag .
Some poor charity worker will have had to look at it
Never painted for many years I often think I might again but never do .
I have a few water colours on my walls that my DD did but she's a trained artist so mine looked very amateurish compared to hers .
I think if that's your first attempt then you have a hidden talent that you should use more often . Well done xxx

Oh, that's really kind of you all - I'm very happy to take advice if anyone's got suggestions on how to improve. Please - I mean it.
Clover - not sure what's next - I've got a landscape not quite finished, but think I might try another seascape to try an improve on this one. The main thing is I'm really enjoying doing it. Art was my favourite subject at school and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it - well it was quite a long time ago!

As the others have said Daisy, you should be proud of that, love the clouds. I think you might have inspired others to get those paints out. Art was my favourite subject at school too, much to the annoyance of the needlework teacher when I had to choose which one to drop. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

You're all still being very kind!
Grauntie - I can't sew, knit, crochet, quilt, do patchwork, and even sewing a button is is a major achievement for me. I can just about do basic embroidery stitches, and that's it!

I've spent most of this afternoon on the clouds.
This is nowhere near finished, and I think some of the clouds still look like slugs! But I'm having fun.
I know acrylics dry darker but it's still a surprise when I look at something when it has dried off - it looks quite different. So this is very much a work in progress!
