Clover - you underestimate yourself. I think that's really lovely. The colours are spot on and you've made the scene come alive. I love how you've done the greens in the headland and your sea has got a real sense of movement and depth, and reflects the warm sky.

      Please keep on painting. xxxx

Now, there's an idea - but we've got other artists on GRU as well - WeeGranny and Aggie, plus probably others who've hid their light under an offline bush. There are also all the crafters, knitters and needleworkers - we could have our very own multi-media exhibition.

Yay - finished my second seascape today. Keen to get started on another one, now. I think I've got the painting bug.

Daisy, that is so good. I'm full of admiration!
How lovely to have something interesting and creative to capture your imagination and fill some of lockdown

Aww, you're both very kind. I'm having such a lot of fun doing them, and can't wait to start another.

Gem - it feels like more than filling lockdown - it's what I always loved doing when I was growing up. Art lessons were the highlights of my week at school, but real life takes over and this is the first time I've seriously got back to painting, although I'd never used acrylics before.

YouTube videos are amazing and so helpful.

Very atmospheric clouds Daisy! Can I ask what paint you're using? Also have you seen Maggie Hamblin's work? Worth a look. I may have spelt surname wrongly, check Hamlin too!
Must get on with my painting,I'm not as quick as you and Clover!

WeeGranny - thank you. I feel I'm struggling with clouds - most of them still look like slugs to me.

No, I haven't seen Maggie Hambling's work, but I'll Google her and have a look. I have to say, I love your art and would love to see more of it when you're able.

EDIT - I've just had a quick look and will definitely be going back to study her sea and water pictures more closely. Many thanks for the link. x

That’s beautiful Daisy. The water is fab. Difficult to get the sun’s rays I should imagine. It’s not a bad bug to catch.😀

Clover - I hope you're enjoying painting as much as I am. I can't wait to start my next effort.

WeeGranny - I'm sorry I forgot to say what paints I'm using - Winsor & Newton Galeria. I'm still getting to grips with the various levels of permanence/coverage. I ordered System 3 colours for CYMK (Process) colours, which I haven't used yet, but coming from a photography background I thought they'd be interesting to try. I had been given some Liquitex paints some time ago but was very disappointed to find most of them had separated the pigment from the 'carrier' (I don't know the technical terms!) and I think I'll end up throwing them away. But I've noticed lots of professional artists using that brand.

This is what I'm working on at the moment. Looking towards North Hill in Minehead. It's from a card and doesn't look quite like the original!
