WeeGranny - I really like that. I don't think it should look exactly like the original - it's your interpretation, using your own style of painting. I think it's beautiful. Is it watercolour? That's so hard!!

That’s really lovely WG. I don’t think I’ll ever reach your standard but I enjoy trying 😀

Clover - that's exactly how I feel. I see good artists like WG doing great pictures - I'd love to be at that standard, but I'm content just pottering with a paintbrush and seeing what happens.

I've lined up another one to start today. It's going to be a bit of a challenge because it's got structures in as well as sea and shingle beach.

Aggie, I can't see them. Daisy may be able to help when she comes along.

Aggie - thank you for your lovely comments. I know you're an accomplished artist so your input is really welcome.

None of your photos have uploaded to this thread. In your Media (click on your name and then on Media) there are three photos of beautiful granddaughters.

If you want to put photos on the forum from your computer click on the camera icon on the top left of the dialogue box (what you type into on a thread). This bring up a couple of options below what you're typing. Click on "Upload" (Not "Upload Attachments") and you should get a list of files on your computer (mine is the Find option, but it's a Mac. Not sure what the Windows one is called). Click on the photo you want and you then hit "choose/select" whatever word your computer uses, and it will upload onto the Forum. It looks as though it's going to be separate from your post, but when you hit Continue, and then Post Reply it will all join together - like this.

Let me know if you've got any problems with it - it's always difficult trying to work out how other people's computers work.

I hope that helps, Aggie. But let me know if it doesn't.

Seascape number 3! This is (supposed to be!) a place called Lepe beach. It's one of the sites where boats were prepared and launched for the D-Day landings, and the wooden structures that remain were piers the boats were moored to. They're called dolphins - no idea why. I remember taking this photo on an incredibly hot day right at the end of October nearly 5 years ago. The land in the distance is the Isle of Wight. I'm not happy with the perspective of the dolphins - something else that needs lots more practice!

That is so good. How wonderful to be able to work on on your own excellent photos and create paintings out of them!

Do you just set too with brushes Daisy, or do you draw first? After going to the Van Gogh experience the other day and seeing how he sketched everything first, it made me wonder.
