It's September - back to school.

My GS1 will be starting his last year at secondary school! It doesn't seem possible!

And it also doesn't seem possible that GD2 will be starting! Reception class starts a week later than the rest of the school, and she only does half days - afternoons - for the first two or three days.

I was talking to DS1 last night, and he doesn't think either of the boys has given school much of a thought yet! LOL

          No new schools this year.
Grandson 1 goes into Year one, and Granddaughter into Year 4. How can she be that age?!!

Grandson2 will continue with his one day a week with each grandmother, and couple of half days at nursery. He could start at the preschool attached to GD's school, but I think they will wait until he is 3, as they did with his sister.

So, from next week it will be back to school pick ups. Not for GS1 until the following week though as I am having him all day on Monday, the last day of the holidays.

Good luck to all new starters

Ours go back on Thursday. It means we lose of elder two on Thursdays as one will be at school and the other at pre school. We will be in Portugal for a well earned break!

Qwerty - they do break them in gently, don't they! GD2 doesn't start for another week and then does two afternoons, and I think all day Friday. I remember when my DS1 started it was straight in 9-3.30, and Tuesdays was Tufty Club till 4 pm - and he was just 4, similar age to the twins! He used to come home and fall asleep on the living room floor!

I can't imagine why you thought your child-minding days were over!!

I'll have both GDs on Monday, and GD2 on Tuesday, after the school have done their home visit in the morning. Then it will be back for GD1 finishing school at 3.30. I think I might as well stay there on Tuesday! And dog training starts again the same day.

Gd1 moving to Secondary school, all the rest just up a year. DD1 has been sewing in name tapes. She sent a pic. Honestly, her children can sew neater than her, talk about homeward bounders! When I could control my mirth I offered to do the job properly. She hasn’t taken up my offer though. She is to needlework what I am to horse riding.😆

Grauntie - I used to hate all that sewing on of labels - my stitching always looked like something bitten by a shark - jagged and bloody!

DIL2 writes names on her DDs' things.

Clover - where does the time go! I hope she enjoys Sixth Form. Did you say she doesn't have to wear uniform any more?

GS starts Secondary School on Thursday, then he has his birthday on Saturday! Doesn't seem any time since he was born!

Wee Granny - I think once they start secondary school they seem to grow up even faster - teenage-dom hits them like a steam train. I hope he likes his new school.
