If Horsey helps Ben to get through all his tests and hospital stays, then he should jolly well have Horsey. If the other mother had a child going through what Ben has to endure,i bet she would think differently.
A big boy present would be well deserved, and I bet it would be appreciated.

nan2 "the other mother" is what my eldest and youngest boys call their natural mother, my husbands first wife, so she is also grandmother to the children, not that you would notice (I know that sounds b/tchy sorry). I 100% agree with you. Horsey has been with him since he was a baby and if it gives him comfort we LOVE Horsey being there and beggar off anyone with contrary opinions.......

My kids know about the forum, I call it the Friends of Granny forum, I have explained to the two boys because they asked me about my trip last year. The boys were a bit curious and didn't really understand the concept although they both play internet games and talk to their friend on head sets when they are doing it. I don't think the idea of grandma doing it quite suits. Clearly I am too old to have on line friends........

Oh Zizi glad to know it's all over! I really feel for all the kids that are unfortunate enough to have to go through tests and medical procedures, bad enough for us grown ups, let alone for the little mites. Anyway do buy him whatever he wishes, and never mind what the "other mother" thinks! Such a brave boy! Lots of hugs all round....xxx

"Shouldn't have Horsey" ?? How ridiculous!! Of course he should. I agree he deserves a present Zizi, and I'm so glad the news is so promising

yes I do understand nan2, she really doesn't have much to do with the GC (or the sons come to that) hence the reason she doesn't understand the way little people work.

All I can say ZIZI, is that it's her loss.

What a stupid thing to say, of course he needs his old friend.

We are very grateful for the NHS and the support from other family and friends (virtual and otherwise). He has the most amazing parents who take everything in their stride, a lot of marriages are tested by this sort of thing but they are, thankfully, very strong. They both try to keep the worst bits from us but invariably we find out one way or another. It is unfortunate that the truth is we do not know what the future holds for him. There was a time when he was wrapped in cotton wool but, although he is still quite small for his age, he showed us all that he is pretty much the same as most little boys and cotton wool was not wanted.

We spoke to him earlier today and asked him if he wanted to come on the Windsor Duck Tour on Saturday with his cousins who are having a sleepover. His response was "Oh yes please Gwandma (little speech impediment bless him) we haven't had a big adventure for ages". He may stay over, he was not happy with the bunk bed last time so I will go and get the little fold up bed if he decides he wants to stay. I suspect he will want to as he and Joe, his cousin, will have a conversation and Joe will try to talk him into it, nothing to do with adults, the just like being together. I am so pleased that as cousins they are all very close. But we mustn't pressure him, if he gets anxious that is when the episodes spontaneously happen.

Looking forward to Saturday and having all three with us.

Oh ZIZI I'm sure Saturday will be a lovely day for all of you. It's good that Ben has so much support from the NHS, but the family support he has just can't be faulted. So pleased he is going on the Duck Tour with you all.

Plant how easy is it for you to get to Windsor? You are welcome to join us. We have booked the tickets but I am sure we can add one. Let me know.
