We have just spoken to him. He is OK. He says that the nurses are nice (of course they are) and the dedicated nurse who was with him for his osophagus operation popped along to see him as usual. Dil will sleep next to him tonight, son now has an office not far away so will go there to keep up with work (he has a lot on) and stay in a hotel overnight and will go in the morning to be with them.
If you believe please pray for my Ben, if you don't just send him and his parents hugs.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Zizi - I am praying for him, and for all of you. Does Ben know there are a whole collection of other children's grannies who are sending him love, good wishes and positive vibes.

We have just heard that they are on the way home. He has had the tests but they will not have all the results for a month HOWEVER he has been off the adrenalin medicine for almost two days and when they gave him the medicine that should make him crash he didn't! Last time they did this test it was immediate and very severe necessitating a swift injection to bring him out of it. That possibly means that his adrenal gland has started to work (or come back off holiday as Ben would put it). The doctors cautiously mentioned they could leave him off the medication but son and dil said they wanted to wait for the results of he tests. We haven't spoken to them in depth as Ben was in the car.
The important thing is that he is on the way home. He has been a very good boy apparently and only cried a little bit when they took the catheter out despite being used as a pin cushion all day. Such a lot for a small boy to go through. Methinks a special "big boy" present should be purchased .......If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

forgot to say that when he was a baby he had a soft toy called "Horsey" - yes it is a horse! Horsey has been with him all of his life and always goes into hospital with him, in fact there are several Horsey toys lest one goes missing. Horsey always has his own blanket and hospital bracelet. I have just seen a picture of Horsey with Ben on FB on my dils page. The other mother said he shouldn't have it any more as he is too old but as far as I am concerned if it gives him comfort it doesn't matter what age he is.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together
