    Ben

Tomorrow Ben is going to GOSH. They have been suddenly called in because GOSH have decided that they need to induce an episode to see how much adrenalin Ben is independently producing. Unfortunately they have done this before and it means an overnight stay and Tuesday he will have numerous injections, blood tests and will not be allowed out of bed meaning having a catheter which he hates. They had previously said they wouldn't need to see him for ages so everyone is a bit worried about why there has been this sudden calling in.

During the episodes he stops breathing completely and of course it is horrible for him but at least it will be in a controlled environment. Poor little boy, now he is older he remembers more and son says he is a bit upset and sleeping with mummy for comfort, son is sleeping in spare room.

We will face time him tomorrow at the hospital, he has to stay in overnight as they will get there at 3pm and then his medicines will stop until they have finished the tests on Tuesday so there is a possibility of a spontaneous episode. Again, at least he will be in a hospital and there will be no messing around waiting for paramedics. Still a worrying time though.

Thanks ladies, it is just we were told he would not need this again for ages. He was supposed to have a heart op this month and it got postponed because they were worried about an episode. We had all agreed to talk about the op to prepare him and then they pulled the plug.

Luckily there hasn't been much time for him to think about this latest thing. They only found out Friday and obviously had to prepare him, hence Mad nanny taking him out to buy a present, something to keep his mind off the impending visit.

I will worry until I get the "all clear" text on Tuesday. We know what time he will be finished which is not necessarily a good thing as a few seconds past that time and we will all be watching our phones!!

Zizi - it sounds as though GOSH is being very cautious and want to check out an episode before they reschedule Ben's heart op. I'm sure the information they get from the induced episode will make the eventual heart procedure safer for him. Poor little chap, it's truly awful for him - and I know you and the rest of the family will be going through it as well on Tuesday.

Big hug to you all. xx

No medical knowledge Zizi, but sending you all a great deal of love and sympathy. It must be so hard for Ben as he matures and is still finding himself so dependent on others and not making his own decisions.

Zizi. I'm so sorry to hear what a stressful situation you're all going through. I don't know how old Ben is, but it sounds traumatic whatever the age. Will be thinking of you all.😚

Watching a child you love unwell and undergoing medical treatment is one of the hardest things Zizi. My thoughts are with you and all the family.

Nana he will be nine in November. He has had many operations and procedures and when he was younger he just took it in his stride but as he gets older and he knows he has to go to the hospital he gets quite distressed. He is a very sweet boy.
