Holidays 2017

Well we are just back from a quick break and will be going away to Feureventura in March now husband has heard that he is getting a bonus of £400 and two further free flights as the company has hit their targets. How lovely! Shame we had already booked and paid for the March holiday. Never mind maybe we will have a holiday in September instead. Husband has five days on the trot off shift in March but it coincides with a big event I am doing called Open Doors. It is where construction sites conduct site tours for the general public. I have sites opening in Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, and London and there will be VIP visits and press things to organise.so we can't go away that week and we won't go away in school holidays. arent we lucky?.

Zizi - there's a saying - the harder you work the luckier you get, so yes, lucky but your OH and his colleagues must have been working hard to hit their targets. It's nice to see that appreciated, though. It's nice going away in June, before the school holidays start and the evenings are nice and light.

It just depends on the way his shifts go. We were hoping that we can get away in May on our Murder Mystery weekend which we received vouchers for from the kids for Christmas. It will also coincide with our 25th wedding anniversary.

You'll have to do something special for your Silver Wedding Anniversary, Zizi. It's our Golden in July and we can't decide how to mark the occasion!

If I was still married to the first it would be 44 years and second would be 36 years, still you have got to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince......

I am away from the 22nd July for 2 weeks. Going to France with as many of the family who can come.

I hope so, my SIL's mother is coming, she will be 90 in June and the new babe of course. We are motoring but the young family are flying. We didn't want to drive too far so it will only be about 4/5 hours from the tunnel. All SIL's idea, he loves to have the family together.

Plant - big family holidays like that are lovely. It's something I always notice when I'm people watching - a wide age group enjoying being together. You'll have a great time, I'm sure.

How lovely, Plant, for you all to be together. We used to do that when the GC were younger, have had some great times with them all at Disneyland and centreparcs. We used to find a house/cottage big enought for us all in Devon or Cornwall and go there too, lots of fun. Have a great time.

We are off to Wales next month, on a coach trip! Imagine all us oldies together, but it's good fun and we go to some interesting places. DH loves not having to drive, means we can both relax. I'm looking forward to,visiting Caldey Island and St Davids, which is near where my family originate......and NO cooking

We went on an escorted coach trip around the east coast of canada and Niagra Falls four years ago. The first time we had done it, and I was a bit hesitant, but we loved having our cases looked after, no driving etc- it was great

I love coach holidays but not brave enough to go alone now.

That's a shame Plant. A lady from our TG who was widowed a couple of years ago, plucked up courage and has been on a few now. In fact she is on the same as us next month. They look after their single travellers very well.
