I will let you know what it is like Gem. We have never been there either. I gather it is quite a windy island but nice and warm. We don't need a lot to do. I would like to just lie back, play some games/ watch some downloaded stuff on my iPad, make some plans for the coming months and have lots of lovely cocktails and food......

SIL is trying to find a large house in France for us all (including 2 GM's) for a holiday, he is taking so long to decide where exactly I am afraid they will all be booked.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Joe and eldest son are ski-ing in France this week, Sadie and mummy are in Wales with sister and cousins, Ben and parents are in St Lucia staying at the home of some friends who inherited an amazing holiday home from their parents, apparently it has a butler and a maid and some stunning views! Sadie and her mum went skiing last year with son and Joe but mummy hated it!

Im sure you will love it Zizi , i have relations who go regularly they love it ,
I agree with you about the baby sitting thing going on holiday with the family , it happened to us when we went to Sorrento for DS, s wedding , we were informed when we got there that they had booked the biggest room for us as we were having GS2 on their wedding night and any night they wanted to go out , he ended up spending most of the days with us too , not that we minded but it was our holiday too and would have liked to decide ourselves when we had him , our DD wouldnt have dreamed of doing that to us , we have been on holiday with them before and never expected to look after GS1
Oh we are off to Nice on Sunday - well Juan La Pins just outside of Nice. Anyone remember the beautiful Peter Sarsted who sang about Juan La Pin? I was completely in love with him! Bed and breakfast plus flights from Heathrow £520 for three nights for the two of us. Thankfully my ribs are a lot better, not completely healed but not as sharply painful as they were so we will be able to get about. Looking forward to it.

We are off to Majorca in 4 weeks for a ten day stay it can't come quick enough for me,we have booked all inclusive again as the food the last time we stayed on the Island the food was delicious and fresh so hoping for the same it is also Adults only so no screaming children at the pool sides, mind you some adults make more noise don't they ?
DD and I are going on our own in October again to Majorca (cheapest deal ever) £189 all inclusive for 7 days each so treated her to a break after the school holidays and just before xmas.
I'm also hoping to pop up and visit my friend in Glasgow Sept time for 3 days I miss her so much we where really good pals when we both lived abroad we met up every afternoon for siesta.
We are packed apart from make up and things like that. We will get the bus at 7.50 am tommorow to go to terminal 5 - a whole ten minutes away. I have to say I am looking forward to going away, I am feeling quite ragged. There are some specific things husband wants to do so I have investigated and they are very easy to organise when we get there and so one day we will do his preferred and the other my preferred neither of which are objectionable to us. I just need to sort out how to get to the hotel from the airport. I realised today our travel insurance has just gone out of date so went on line and got a week's cover for £13. Annoying really as I have fre cover with my bank account but it has to be renewed annually and there is not enough time now but never mind, my own fault.
I had a big report to do for a bid on Friday and spent hours doing it expecting to have a ping pong game with the loads of people who would be looking at it with stuff like "oh I don't think so and so should be mentioned". "Change the wording of such and such" "do you think that is relevant" which is the usual thing BUT I sent it and absolutely nobody has come back and in fact one of the senior people said "it hits the spot". Well if anyone else comes back with a criticism now they can beggar off because I am not opening any work emails until Thursday morning.
Haven't seen the injured Joe as he has apparently instagrammed his injuries and loads of girls at school want to comfort him so he has been exceedingly busy being "looked after". I am guessing it is not hurting as much now and being comforted by young ladies is rather better than being comforted by grandma.
Not sure if I will be able to post while I am away as I am not taking old iPad and do have GRU on new one.
If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together
Zizi,,have a wonderful time, I know you are ready for it.
We won't worry if we don't hear from you, and will look forward to hearing all about it when you get back
