Well I have been quite poorly. This afternoon particularly. So I came to the room and had a sleep. I have been bitten to death even though I have been using a repellent bracelet and that is getting me down, the constant itching and stinging but I have plenty of cream although it does not seem to be working that well. I took the bracelet off when I lay down this afternoon and had a couple of hours sleep. I realised when I woke up that I felt a lot better. I am not sure if it is a coincidence but I have decided not to put the bracelet back on tomorrow and see how things go. This afternoon I was even sick!

There was a beach football tournament here today, lots of fit young men. Unfortunately they are now being very noisy fit young men!

The island tour was done completely in the rain. Not a little bit of rain, big gushing swirly, cannot see your hand in front of your face rain. The taxi driver/guide must have been a member of the bleach babes because he was not having a tiny little showing of mud in his people carrier van thing. He shouldn't have taken us to muddy places then should he? We went to a fort which was very muddy and got quite OCD about us getting back into the van. Wiping behind each person! He nearly had a fit when my husband got in as he had mud on his trainers and the driver (Mr Tito) insisted on washing his shoes! After that of course we all giggled and warned each other not to get muddy and then later at another place Corrine from our hotel, who was wearing flip flops, managed to step heavily into a deep muddy puddle (it didn't look deep) the mud went everywhere! Mr Tito was beside himself.

As we drove around the island there was constant shouting out of the windows and presses on the "interesting" horn. There are 60,000 people who live in the island and I think Tito knows them all. We went for lunch to Gemma's Treehouse Kitchen. It is indeed a treehouse, well a restaurant built around a very gnarly tree. It was there that we discovered we had a very posh person in our midst. When you go to these all inclusive or part inclusive places you wear a wristband which tells the staff what you have paid for. This woman stated loudly that she had a large house in Lincolnshire, a flat in Marylebone, several expensive cars and she thought she had booked the top package. There was, apparently, no way she was going to wear a plastic bracelet, she kept it in her Prada purse, if you please, and would show it when she needed to. Mmmm I thought well if you are so flipping well off why didn't you book a private island tour instead of a £45 a head one with lunch included?

So that is me checked in. I feel well tonight, better than I have for days. Sorry I haven't kept you all up to date. Will be posting some pictures in a mo. Gemini see the frizzy hair that refuses to be unfrizzed.

Great to hear from you Zizi! We don't mind not hearing from holidaymakers, but when they have been ill and we don't we worry
I agree about leaving the bracelet off, it does sound as though it is the culprit. Oma swears by toothpaste for bites you know? I have tried it a couple of times and it helps.
Frizzy haired girls rule It looks quite pretty actually!

I agree with Gemini, I like your hair. So sorry you have been unwell, sounds like the bracelet was the cause, were you wearing it on the plane?

I will try toothpaste, I had in the back of my mind someone did that. It is 4.55 am here and husband is snoring for England. My itchy bits woke me and I have just put some spray on. At least I don't feel sick.....

Zizi - it does sound as though the bracelet is the villain of the piece. I'm so glad you're feeling better and hopefully can enjoy the rest of your holiday. Do you take anti-histamine tablets - I wondered if they would help with the itchiness. By the way - I would have to spend a small fortune and go through torture to make my hair look as glam as your does!!

Plant no I was not wearing it on the plane I bought it here so the problem on the plane was a different one, bit of a walking disaster really aren't I? I have just taken an anti histamine funnily enough Daisy. Problem with the hair is that it goes like that when I don't want it to! If I was going out it would refuse to do anything but sit flatly!

Well it is lunchtime here. I think that damned bracelet had the opposite effect to repelling creatures. I could feel every bite throbbing and stinging constantly. I even dreamt there were bed bugs last night. This is the first day I feel like me. Shame it is nearly the end of the holiday. Never mind could have been worse, could have not realised what the cause was (and I am convinced as is husband that is what it was) and been ill right the way through.

Wild and wanton Libra, shame husband doesn't see it that way ........
