    We're off!

On holiday! We've booked a week away in the caravan for later this month. We're really looking forward to it and keeping fingers crossed for some decent weather.

Have a lovely time Daisy. It has always been OH’s dream to own a mobile home of some sort. I’m the old stick-in-the-mud. 😬

We're not going far - Wareham. It's a nice site we've stayed at before. A nice easy drive for our first trip of the season.

Grauntie - we do love the caravan. It is so relaxing. You can't hurry anything, and don't need to, so days are leisurely and in the evening we go out for a meal and we always sleep like logs with all the fresh air. Modern touring caravan/motor home sites have great facilities - proper shower rooms, etc, and people are very friendly and help each other if anyone has a problem.

We've also had a static van in the past, and if you've got a dream location that's great too. Plus the comfort of more space etc.

We had 3 vans in our time, loved it. We used to go to Upton-on-Severn a lot, we loved the Malvern Hills. Have a lovely time Daisy

Plant, that's a lovely part of the country.

Gem, I enjoyed camping when we were first married - but only in somewhere like the South of France where the weather was reliable, but I definitely wouldn't camp in this country - even in the most luxurious tent imaginable. But modern caravans and motor homes are very comfortable - lovely beds, proper little kitchens, central heating, fridge/freezers, shower rooms and electric hook ups you just plug in on your pitch. We've got a blow up awning which doubles the floor space and is great if there's a chill wind, or it rains. They are also very cheap holidays!

For us, one of the big attractions is being able to take Eva (she loves it!) but even without a dog, I would still enjoy the caravan.

Me too Daisy, my OH was not keen on hotels and B&B’s.

Plant, I can understand that really. Hotels are very nice, but I like the fresh air and freedom of caravanning.

Daisy I can see the attraction and if we could have afforded one when the children were little I think we may have.
