Daisy, I may only use it once a year

Nanto and Gemini - I've resurrected this thread to see how you've both got on with your steam mops, although I realise Gem's might not have had it's annual outing yet!!
OH ended up scrubbing our kitchen floor recently because the grouting between the tiles was looking yukky, so I'm trying to ensure he has a gadget to help and to save his knees before it needs doing again. lol
I noticed on the spec for the Vax one it only has a running time of 12 minutes - and we've got a very big kitchen. Could we do it in 12 mins?
Also the photo on Amazon showing the window cleaning attachment looked tiny, so I'm wondering whether it would do both jobs or would we be better with one of those window cleaning thingies that other ladies have mentioned (Oma, I think). Were they Karcher window cleaners?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Honestly Daisy,what are you implying??!!
Surprisingly, I regularly use my steam mop Really easy to use, cheap and good for the environment, as you don't need to use any cleaning chemicals. The kitchen floor is clean in no time .
Ours plugs in, so there is no time limit.
I confess I only use it for the floors. I have yet to try any of the hand held gadgets.
I fancy one of those Karcher wndow cleaners, lots of members seem to have them!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem - we know each other so well!!!!
By Tuesday or Wed next week my OH should be the proud possessor of a steam mop!!! I'm so kind to him! Well it is his 70th birthday next Saturday, so time I got some little treats for him."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

I use my steam mop regularly, but I sometimes still use a mop and bucket, to get into the corners and edges. With the ordinary mop, I think you can give the floor a bit more oomph, if you know what I mean.
Hope hubby likes the steam mop birthday present.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I have just remembered what it is I dislike about my Vax steam mop! I really struggle to get the water and detergent tanks off- in fact I can't do it without the help of a knife or OH has to do it. I have just used it and I think the hard water filter needs changing as it didn't steam much at all. 😕Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.

Nanto - my floor isn't used to such rough treatment - giving it oomph! Poor thing! I treat it very gently - a little light sweeping from time to time, or an occasional whooosh over with the sucky-up thingy on a stick.
Plant - when we had our ensuite bathroom refitted a few months ago the plumber suggested a slight rearrangement of fittings to get rid of a narrow bit of floor space. He said I might think I'd clean that awkward little bit of floor - but he knew I wouldn't! Oh, the shame, even the plumber knew I was a mucky trollop!
