Gem - I hope your DD is home safe and sound so you can stop worrying about her. xx
During the IRA attacks and bomb scares in the 70s we were living in Liverpool and then Luton - bomb scares were a daily fact of life, but everyone just carried on as normal. I'm sure communities now will pull together and make it clear that these scumbags can't dictate our way of life.
I feel desperately sad for those killed and injured in the attacks, and for their poor families who must be frantic with grief and worry, but so many affected by the Manchester attack and this one at London Bridge are saying we must look forward with love, not back in anger."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. She's safely home thanks Daisy!
I lived in London in the 70's, and as you say bag searches and bomb scares were common. I remember being evacuated from a top floor restaurant of a London store due to a bomb scare. I was 20 and never actually 'scared'“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
