York schoolchildren form human chain across city

This moved me and made me feel very proud.

Only one of my three grandchildren goes to school in York and I don't think he was involved.
I watched the report on the local news.

I know it won't make any difference to what is happening, but well done to the school and chidren for showing their support.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

It moved me, too, Gem. The parents of those children should feel very proud of them. When anyone is in a crisis situation (as the Ukrainians are) it must make them feel loved and supported and a little less isolated to know that people from all walks of life in so many countries care about them.

Yes, they need practical support as well, but gestures like this must help to keep their hopes for peace alive. Well done to those children.

I think it's heart-warming as well to see all the lorries piled high with things needed by the refugees setting off for Poland.

It also makes our children feel they are doing something to support the children of the Ukraine in a small way ,
Children are scared what they hear adults talking about and what is on the news so anything to channel their minds is a good thing .

I read on FB one mother explained this terrible war to children as a bully in the play ground wanting his own way ( Putin ) ,
and a group of friends (UN) making a pinky promise to stop him bullying , the way it was put was really good at explaining things to them .

GS1 (always politically aware!) Has a lot to say about Putin. Not least that he deserves the Poo part of his name!

I've read it too. It's very good.

Gem - your GS1 has hit the nail on the head. A future leader in the making.
