Ditto Daisy. I have been having thought about what music I would like as when my OH died I was caught out and did't have time to think it through. Trouble is I keep changing my mind.

At yesterday's funeral the music was :Entry- Amazing Grace sung by Treorchy Male Voice Choir ( on a recording unfortunately)
Hymns - Morning has broken and Love divine
Exit - Myfanwy ( the oldest Welsh love song).
OH's aunt was born in Pembrokeshire and married to a Cardiff man so Welsh music was very important to them They moved this way 8 years ago to be nearer family, But Aunt always hankered after going back to Wales. It was avery moving service led by a wonderful Celebrant.Believe you can and you're halfway there.

In my life.......The Beatles played at the start of my funeral and as the curtains close around the coffin
These are the days of our lives ...Queen
I chose the last song because my family and friends know that I am a huge Queen fan but also at the end of the song Freddie whispers “I still love you “
I have written in my funeral plan ( yes I am that organised) that everyone should listen out for the end of the song because it’s a message from meBring me sunshine in your smile.

Oh dear, I still have no idea what I'd choose!
I'd want the words to be appropriate, the music to be something people would know, and the meaning to be special to those I love."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

An update to my dear dads funeral last Monday 30th April. Everything went to his plan but there was so much more. He was so well known where he lived, the crematorium was packed. The Mayor and Mayoress were there, also sea cadets; the councillor for Canvey Island, his carers from the home who looked after him and to top it all TWO Chelsea Pensioners had travelled all the way from London to be there too. I'm afraid I was a quivering wreck, but was able through my tears to read my Eulogy for him. At the end dad was given The Last Post and Revellea(spelling). It was a truly fitting Funeral for a really remarkable man. I am so proud of him and so happy to call him "MY DAD".

Mamma-mia - what a remarkable and special tribute to someone who was clearly very special himself.
Well done for reading his Eulogy, and keeping going despite your tears.
I hope you found the service uplifting and comforting. Sending you hugs. xxx"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
