Decluttering are you good at it ?

I read I think on Facebook about a woman that had decluttered 365 items so I had decided to have a go I have got to 100 this is with sets of glasses counting one glass as one item, cleared my kitchen cupboards of large dishes which I used when entertaining or when family came I keep them although cant remember the last time I had a get together we now celebrate things by going out for a meal also the kids have in laws and such they visit at celebration times so I rarely have a full house these days so all big dishes have gone.
Clothes have had an overall I wasn't going to say anything for a while but I have lost 2 stone so not kept the clothes I had, knee high boots with heels are not me now really and the list goes on books have gone OH reads a kindle now just kept what I call coffee table books its been very difficult to do lots of memories and "wonder if I will use this again " syndrome two ewe wood corner cabinets have gone and all its contents but I feel happier for it and have forgotten already some of the STUFF I had already

Qwerty - first of all, well done of the weight loss - 2 stone is a stunning achievement, and I bet you look stunning, too.

We're in the process of doing a whole-house declutter. OH is such a hoarder, but then when I look round I've also got a lot of 'stuff' which I don't need or even want. I've recently cleared out a 4-drawer filing cabinet and condensed the remaining contents into a few box files. OH had a garage so full of clutter you can hardly get in there - but he has got rid of a few things, with lots more to go. When we had the new kitchen worksurfaces fitted last September, I emptied out all cupboards and got rid of all sorts of things I never used - a yoghurt maker, coffee machines unused for ages, one of those salt things you hang on the wall - the list goes on and on! Clothes are going to be my next big job to tackle. We've got to decorate our bedroom, so I'm going to empty out all the drawers and wardrobes and only put back things I can actually wear now. I hope to persuade OH to do the same.

Qwerty, sorry about your health problems, but I bet you look good with the weight loss.
I'm very good at decluttering. If I come across something that I think needs to go,out it goes straight away.I haven't always been this brutal, maybe it's something that's come with age.

I'm half and half, I get get rid of lots of stuff usually to the Sally Army, but the rest I just keep and store, but OH is awful, he cannot declutter. Before we moved I had to secretly shred paperwork going back 40 years for him! He's never noticed!

Neither myself or my late husband have been hoarders. I am inclined not to like parting with clothes. The garage is very tidy because we like to garage the car. Really must turn out the shed, there are two mowers a rotavator and lots tools I am never going to use. I had a look in our medicine cabinet today and suffice it to say most things were out of date so the cupboard is almost empty now

Weight loss is good when you want it, so well done Qwerty, but take care of yourself too!

I am no good at decluttering, no one is worse than me. If OH wasn't here I would probably disappear under my own clutter

Well done on the weight loss Qwerty keep yourself walking with those babies and it will stay off I'm sure. I have done some decluttering over the past few weeks and have sorted loads of bits & bobs we don't use, same as you with the large plates and containers that we will never use again as we are now in the flat and don't have a separate dining room for family get togethers as we did in the big family house.I have offered them to DD & DIL & DS2s fiance but they all looked at me as if I was mad so they have gone to Charity Shop but I'm sure someone will make use of them.Clothes are a different matter as I do tend to stick to the same style and colours so I don't tend to overbuy as I know what suits me I have however culled my collection of scarves & sandals so lots of space in wardrobe again and of course a massive through out of underwear again, what has happened to white underwear staying white even when washed carefully they just don't seem for some reason to stay true to colour for some reason.

Well done on your weight loss Qwerty , OH has lost a stone since the new year but most of that was through Ill health he is aiming for another stone and all I managed to loose is just under half a stone 😭
Moving house is a great way to de clutter it worked a treat for us but as we now now been in our new place about 18 months I feel the need for another de cluttering to take place.
😭 I still haven't got around to sorting out my signature 😭
