Never anything cooked unless you count porridge or toast. No sugar on cereals and reduced sugar marmalade.I usually put a few raisins or sultanas on porridge and I always have an apple mid morning.

Forgot to say, I never have breakfast as soon as I get up.Usually have breakfast a couple of hours after getting up, and about 3 coffee's.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I never have breakfast, couldn't stomach it as a child either. Cannot eat before 12 noon, and apparently that is quite good for the digestive system as it gives it a nice long rest!

Ah that's different. Bacon and tomatoes and toast once every three years isn't too bad!

Aggie how do you cook porridge in the microwave without it boiling over. DH has porridge every morning and has given up on the microwave and uses a saucepan. Doesn't seem to matter how large a container is used in the microwave it always bubbles over. Any tips please.

Plant we use out digestive system far too much. We are still hunter gatherers, physically, and overload it by eating too much too often. Humans are used to and adapt to periods of short starvation and it clears the gut!

BL, I always make porridge in the microwave. I just use a deep cereal bowl. A pyrex type bowl should do the job if your cereal bowls are shallow.

I use a large bowl for cooking the porridge , I got it from Lakeland , I got one of the lidded thingies for porridge but it boiled over . I also eat from this bowl to save washing up

Perhaps I was just using too small a bowl and that is why it boiled over. Now DH says it tastes much better when cooked in a saucepan talk about making a rod for your own back!!

That makes sense Elisi and the fast diet seems to be based on that and mentions the health benefits of not eating very much on some days. I'm quite glad we don't now have to find our food (other than popping to Sainsbury's that is) as DH would probably come back with something inedible. Even with a supermarket list he comes back with the wrong thing quite often

Oh Yes Plant - he does do that. There is something slightly nausea making about sticky porridge glued around the saucepan that I cannot cope with first thing in the morning.

I know it's the most important meal of the day,but unless away or on holiday I do not eat any breakfast.Sometimes I can go all day without eating and just have my main meal at night. Not healthy I know, but although I am a cook I'm not a foody'I'm definately an eat to live person and not a live to eat.
