I've had my bus pass since I was 60 and I was so excited as bus travel here is expensive £3.00 just for 4 short stops into the nearest shopping centre,on the day I was able to use it I went out on my own just for the sake of it .
I can travel as far as Southport & Chester and into North Wales use on the trains and the Liverpool Ferry so lots of free places to visit I use it more in nice weather rather than use my little car its a real bonus.
Enjoy Gems start planning your routes for lovely days out and about.

Glamm - your bus pass gives you access to a very wide area, and being able to use it on the Ferry and into North Wales as well is fantastic. I can imagine parking is expensive in Chester and Southport - if you can find a space! Your bus pass is worth a lot more than its weight in gold.

Our bas pass can only be used on the bus!! It's interesting how other Councils allow the passes to be used on other forms of public transport though. We can use our pass anywhere in England though....but only on a bus!!!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

I'm not sure what the rules are about our bus passes here, but there aren't many buses to use them on! I don't even think you can use them on "tour" buses.

I plan to use my pass for the first time on Monday!

I am meeting a friend in town for lunch. We usually meet up for meal near Christmas, and sometimes for our birthdays as well. We haven't met since before the pandemic, so we have lots of missed celebrations to catch up on!

The restaurant we are going to does cocktails. Having just finished my 4th course of antibiotics this year, there has been little alcohol consumed. Cocktails are one thing I love, so I hope to have one on Monday.
Hence the bus instead of driving

I have just realised my bus pass has run out, I have only used it a few times.

Gem - you will have to make sure you get on the right bus going home, or you could end up anywhere!

Plant - it's worth it even if you don't use it all the time.

                    Nanto - hopefully it's ok.

                      LOL Daisy!
We are now meeting on Thursday. My friend (17 years my junior and in no high risk group) won't eat inside a restaurant and has booked a table outside. The forecast for Monday is rain, so I asked if we could change it. Thursday looks a lot more promising.

Gem - a lot of pubs and restaurants have got covered 'outdoor' spaces (that doesn't make sense does it!) so unless it's cold it's ok eating in the rain. In fact I rather like it, but I do feel sorry for the staff who have to keep going in and out. Still, if your friend is nervous about taking risks it's better for her to be relaxed.
