    Your 3 happiest moments

Not counting the births of your children or grandchildren, or your wedding day, can you name three of your happiest moments?

The day I passed my driving test, my 4th attempt, aged 50 was a wonderful happy day for me. I was so happy!

When OH and I were 60 we booked a lovely Majorcan villa for the family to celebrate our birthdays with us. OH became ill and we had to miss the flight out with the family. We did fly out 2 days later when she had recovered and felt up to travel. Fortunately I found a flight at short notice. After the crushing disappointment of not being able to go on the holiday we longed for and planned for, plus the extreme worry I was feeling about OH for those few days , to get there was amazing. SIL met us from the airport.
It was dark when we arrived and as the car pulled up, the double front doors opened out spilled all the family (apart from GS1, who was under 2 and fast asleep) Light from the villa shone out and everyone tried to hug us at once. I don't think I have ever felt more loved. It was magical, moving and wonderful. I am in tears even writing about that memory!!

The day that, with my then OH and 2 little DDs , I stepped off the plane in Portugal for my first ever holiday aboard. I hadn't been too keen to go abroad, preferring to holiday in the UK. The moment we stepped into the warm air, even at 9pm, with the wonderful smells, I was converted! A happy day and happy holiday

Tell us about your happy days!

I was very happy when we moved into our second home, at last I had a back door and the children could run in and out.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

The day we moved from a tiny cramped flat into the house before this one. We'd needed to move for the DSs' schooling before the house we'd bought was ready to be occupied and the flat was a nightmare with a harridan of a neighbour who used to lie in wait to shout abuse at me.

Every dog we've ever had, but especially when I was about 12. Dad came into the living room and placed a wriggling bundle of black fur into my lap - a border collie cross puppy, saying "he's for you."

Standing on a beach in Cuba watching the sun rise through storm clouds and spreading beautiful golden rays across the sea.

Gem - it was hard choosing just three!

Daisy it is quite hard limiting it to 3 once you start thinking. If my post makes people thinks of lots of happy times, it has done it's job

Yes, Gem, I think quite a few of us grannies will be remembering 'firsts' with our grandchildren - first steps, words, sleepover, starting school, and much more.

Brought many happy memories to the fore . It's like getting old photographs out and remembering when they were taken makes you smile .

So many holiday happy memories and time with family, past and present and friends

I was telling OH about this thread on our walk this afternoon, and asking her about happiest moments. Like some of us she remembered far more than 3, and it brought many happy memories back.
We both shared the greeting on the Majorcan holiday one

A few I could mention, moving into a flat after living in our first (house) with no warm water etc, and that with 2 children.
When DS1 recovered from emergency surgery 2 years ago, then my holiday in Alaska! Seeing the glaciers, bears, whales etc etc.
