Not counting the births of your children or grandchildren, or your wedding day, can you name three of your happiest moments?
The day I passed my driving test, my 4th attempt, aged 50 was a wonderful happy day for me. I was so happy!
When OH and I were 60 we booked a lovely Majorcan villa for the family to celebrate our birthdays with us. OH became ill and we had to miss the flight out with the family. We did fly out 2 days later when she had recovered and felt up to travel. Fortunately I found a flight at short notice. After the crushing disappointment of not being able to go on the holiday we longed for and planned for, plus the extreme worry I was feeling about OH for those few days , to get there was amazing. SIL met us from the airport.
It was dark when we arrived and as the car pulled up, the double front doors opened out spilled all the family (apart from GS1, who was under 2 and fast asleep) Light from the villa shone out and everyone tried to hug us at once. I don't think I have ever felt more loved. It was magical, moving and wonderful. I am in tears even writing about that memory!!
The day that, with my then OH and 2 little DDs , I stepped off the plane in Portugal for my first ever holiday aboard. I hadn't been too keen to go abroad, preferring to holiday in the UK. The moment we stepped into the warm air, even at 9pm, with the wonderful smells, I was converted! A happy day and happy holiday
