Who on earth would leave home on a very warm Spring day, with 3 children, a baby and 4 adults, and a borrowed Labrador all dressed for the beach, fully expecting to sit in the sunshine, have a paddle, possibly an ice ream and enjoy the view across the Solent to the Isle of Wight, confident that this is what would happen? Then to find that as they drove the 5 or so miles south (as the crow flies) that a thick swirling sea mist is rolling in from the south, but determinedly plough on to their chosen destination?
Then to be pleasantly surprised that there's space - plenty of it! - in the car park? And stroll along the beach, keeping the children within visibility in the thickening mist, throw sticks into the sea for the dog to retrieve, dig holes in the sand, decorate an abandoned sandcastle, collect shells and stick it out determined to have the planned afternoon on the beach. Then walk back to the harbour for a spot of crabbing - oh and change the baby from the skin outwards because she had sat on wet sand, and eventually get home, tired, sandy, damp and hungry thinking they'd had a great day out!
You've guessed it - Daisy and Co.
But I like to think it shows our British spirit even when the odds are stacked against you.
Either that or we were stupid!!!! LOL

We are very very lucky as The Beach is only a stones throw from where we live and we visit every day, needless to say we don't tend to value the enjoyment visitors get when they come in to the area for the day, sounds like the little ones enjoyed it you will be finding sand for days to come
When we got home I prepared 3 different meals for the 4 children (scrambled eggs, fish fingers, chips and peas, and a gluten-free version as well) and after realising what limited takeaway options there are in our village on a Monday, the grown ups had an Indian!
