Gem, I've been fascinated over the years to see the changing artworks on the fourth plinth. I thin The END (the whipped cream) should have been taken down in September and a new statue erected, but I haven't seen anything in the news about it."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Guy Fawkes, born in York, was arrested when around 30 barrels of gunpowder, camouflaged with coal, were discovered in the cellar under Parliament.
Robert Catesby’s small band of Catholic zealots who planned to blow up James I and Parliament were only arrested after Fawkes revealed their names when tortured on the rack. Families of World War 1 soldiers executed for cowardice or desertion laid a wreath at the Cenotaph in Whitehall in the first ceremony of its kind to pay tribute to the 306 servicemen who died.
