I went as a parent helper with GS2's school on a trip which included visiting Gypsy Moth IV, and I was shocked at how small it was. Selby Abbey became a 'mitred abbey' one of the most defining honours that could be granted and an honour which it shared in the north with St Mary's Abbey, York. It remained so until the time of the 'dissolution'.
My GS1 lived within 5 minutes walk of Selby Abbey for the first 8 years of his life. As a toddler he always wanted me to take him in there as he knew they sold flapjack bars from a little cafe at the back

We watched it on a tiny 10" TV with our living room crowded with friends. One thing I really remember is a friend of my Mum's saying to her "it's the last Coronation, we'll see".
