Gosh, its a while since I dropped into the Granny's Rest!

We have new management, Guy and Olivia, and very friendly they are

I heard it was very Christmassy as of this weekend so I am here to look.
It would be very rude to leave without buying though!

May I have a Slingsby rhubarb gin with ginger ale please Olivia, and a bowl of olives and nuts? Thank you!

Gem, our watering hole is certainly looking very festive, and the log fire is a great new addition to the lounge area - plus all those lovely squashy, comfortable chairs and sofas.

I'll join you if that's ok, and I'll have a glass of Merlot to toast our new 'Mine Hosts'.

Olivia and Guy are trialing hot meals, with one meat/fish and one veggie dish on offer each evening.

Daisy I have had a peep at tonight's menu.

Served from 5 to 8pm.

Mushroom Stroganoff with rice, or minted lamb burgers with chips and salad. All home made, nothing frozen in the Granny's Rest

Gem, I just squeaked in before the 8 pm deadline and am enjoying the mushroom stroganoff, with a nice glass of mulled wine to start with. There's a delicious-looking raspberry sorbet for afters, which I can't resist.

I heard that Sunday roast is on todays menu, from 12 until 6. I'm glad I'm in time

Roast pork for me please, with a glass of Merlot.
I bought the bottle in case Daisy pops in. If not I will leave it behind the bar for next time.

Gem, I'm here!! I'll definitely help you with the Merlot, thank you. The pork looks and smells delicious and I think chef has done something interesting with the sprouts. They look very appetising.
