We had a lovely day with auntie, and the sun came out which was a bonus. As we had a sandwich at lunch time, and coffee and cake on the way home, I don't feel like eating out tonight! I will be having something very small and watching my friends eat

Gem - sorry to hear your sad news. xx
I've managed to read through a few threads this evening, and I've written about my trip to London on Monday in my Journal. Sorry it's ended up being a bit longer than I intended!!
Oma - I hope you get another good night tonight.
We've got another early start tomorrow. We're meeting DS1 at his office at 8.30 to collect Bailey, their dog. He's staying with us for 2 weeks while they are away. He's a lovely Border Collie, and they've only had him since February, so I hope he doesn't pine too much and think he's been abandoned again. He's stayed here before but only one night without the family, but he gets on well with Eva and I hope they will entertain each other!! I'm looking forward to having another dog about the house.
After being kept awake by the storm last night, I hope we can get a decent night tonight.

Morning ladies, good news Nanto
Going to feed and clean cats this morning then a trip to Tesco , Storm with his Gran till tomorrow so get done today ,
I wanted to spray the weeds on DD drive and around the front door but its wet and grey so no use fingers crossed its fine tomorrow , SIL mowed the lawn but didn't have time to do weeds .
Bit of a night we had, our neighbours Alarm went of at 12.50 went on for ages, then went off, then on again, this carried on till just after 5am , I looked out of window and another neighbour was checking the house as she was away at her DD for the night , nothing sinister just a faulty alarm but it kept everyone awake ,we live in a cul-d-sac so it seems to echo .
I remember years ago my DD was on holiday and her next door neighbour rang us during the night to say hers had been going off for a while so we went over and re set it but it kept going off so I stayed the rest of the night so didn't have to put it on , got Alarm people out next day and it was a spider had managed to get in the sensor and was sitting blocking it so that's why it went off , Man said no idea how it had managed to get in as there was no gaps but it had
Have a good day ladies xxxIm not fat just 6ft too small

Qwerty shame about your day out but it really is bouncing down isn't it ,
Went to Tesco this morning and we are having a new bridge built across the river so a lot of traffic cones dividing the roads ,
Coming along and a car in front of us with two older ladies in on their side of the road at a normal speed when a huge Lorry coming out of the restricted lane at some speed just cut straight in front of her almost side swiping her , she slammed on her brakes with inches to spare , if he had hit it would have forced the car into a solid concrete wall ,she had no where to go , the lorry obviously hadn't been looking in his mirrors or taking notice of the road , he just carried on , we pulled along side to see if they were ok as she just sat there in shock , poor woman was really shook up but ok ,
She carried on after a few minutes and as we turned off we noticed she had caught up with him at the traffic lights and was getting out of her car so I assume she was having words with him ,
To be honest I think he was lucky it was a elderly woman ,a man would have punched his lights out , it was very scary to watch never mind be involved with .Im not fat just 6ft too small

Sitting here n an empty room, just one chair, television and computer. Furniture all stored in garage and spare room, carpet fitter coming Sat. to take up carpet and decorator will be here next week, then a new carpet is going down and furniture moved back on the Monday after we get back from holiday. So far so good, hope the rest goes to plan. Loosing our little cat has put a bit of a damper on things (posted on another thread)
what a terrible shock for the lady driver Oma
Shame about your planned day out Qwerty when you need a break. I hope you get a trip in when the sun shines again. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Oma I'm glad the ladies were O.K even though badly shocked. Kind of you to stop and see if they were alright. We were "cut up " by a horse box on a motorway years ago. It pulled right in front of us and scraped the side of the car. We stopped on the hard shoulder and expected the horse box to do the same but it just carried on into the night. We did report it to the police but as it happened in a different county I don't think they put themselves out to follow it up so that was that. I couldn't think quick enough to note the number plate.
Plant it must feel strange in a near empty room. At least you've got the essentials.
It's turned into a lovely day here after a dull start. We walked to a localish pub for lunch followed by a walk in the woods along to a little shop for an ice cream. We then walked to a Neolithic burial site and a limekiln, somewhere we haven't been for years .A leisurely walk home to a welcome cuppa. Now I must get the washing in. At least no cooking tonight.

Message from DS...he now has a knee immobiliser and crutches! Feels better than the splint, but still hobbling around. He comes home next Thursday, special assistance ( wheelchair) at Bratislava and Stansted! OH managed to get an appointment at the GP for next Friday for him.....he managed to sweet talk the receptionist while he was taking our neighbour for her weekly appointment! Bet I wouldn't have got an appointment that quick. Lovely evening here after a gloomy start to the day. Psyching myself up for a hectic week at the end of the month...GS,invalid DS and decorators!! Went curtain shopping with OH, fat lot of help he was!!! Got some samples from JL and he's decided he really likes the one I'd picked out, phew!Believe you can and you're halfway there.
