Lizzie, it sounds as though you've been suffering with your shoulder for a long time. I hope they can help you to ease the pain. Are you taking the cooking with protein workshop to help with your shoulder problems? My GS2 goes to the gym several times a week and is always talking about protein as being crucial to support his gym activities, especially increasing muscles when he's strength training. But he also says protein is an important building component for tissues etc and eating more protein can help with healing.

Gem, I can understand why Health & Safety drew the line at your Dame chucking bottles of Newky Brown at the audience! You and S both timed it nicely, escaping the downpour. I agree, everything has shrunk, and none of them taste as good either. I've gone right off chocolate biscuits.

Oma, Club biscuits always had a slogan about "if you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit have a Club" until the price of cocoa rocketed, and they switched to something that couldn't legally be described as chocolate, and they came up with the "chocolatey" taste I mentioned earlier, which of course was nowhere near as thick, or as nice as the proper chocolate! (There was a tv programme about it recently.). I do like nice shiny clean windows, even if they don't stay that way for long.

Plant, I hope you're having a lovely evening at your DS and DIL's. I hope you can get to use your new sun room soon.

Well, I spring cleaned the summerhouse today - it took far longer than I expected, but I brushed all the walls, cleared out loads of cobwebs, hoovered the floor and cleaned the windows inside and out. Then I looked at the chairs, and decided they needed scrubbing. Then they needed hosing to rinse them. Then I decided it was warm enough for Eva to have her first shower since last Autumn. She keeps herself very clean, but she did have a slight whiff of "eau de chienne" about her. She loves the hosepipe and chasing the jets of water, so she doesn't even realise she's actually having a shower.

Daisy, I bet your summerhouse is sparkling, and so is Eva.

Not going out like we usually do on a Saturday.
We planned on getting the garden done, but we have had rain during the night. Will have to see if we get a dry morning.
Hubby has got the quad booked in for its MOT at 11.

Dinner will be chicken tikka tikka for hubby, I'll have a cheese omelette.

Daisy, they say more protein when doing the gym etc, also for the elderly , that is where I picked the flyer up!

We had rain most of the day yesterday, dry late afternoon, some parts of the Netherlands have had really bad storms.

I haven't slept well, I had just got to sleep when GD2 messaged me, could I order a pair of trousers for her, they were her "favourites"! They had rain one morning in Barcelona, she hung them in the hotel room to dry, they moved on to Salou yesterday, sorting her case out at 11-30 yesterday evening she discovered she had left them hanging in the room, she was SURE she had packed them! She sent me a photo, she had tried to order them herself but with not being home she couldn't have them delivered, I didn't have to order them straight away and if I sent her the payment code she would pay me back straight away. Of course I ordered them, I sent her a screen shot of the order only to discover her trousers were grey, I had ordered white, they certainly looked white in the photo, back to my phone to cancel the order then order the grey ones! I will now see when I get my money back for the cancelled ones. After that I couldn't get to sleep!

Apart from that they are enjoying their holiday, DS1 phoned yesterday and was saying there were more Dutch people in Barcelona than any other nationality! School holidays.

The sun is out so I hope to get my washing dry, I want to do some shopping then go to DS1's house to see to the indoor plants and post.

            Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Nanto, I hope it's dried up enough for you to get out in the garden. Fingers crossed the quad passes its MOT.

Lizzie, you could have done without being woken up, and having to do the ordering twice would really have made sure you were wide awake! I hope you can take it easy today. I bet your GD was cross with herself for leaving her favourite trousers behind.

We've got sunshine! At the moment, anyway - I don't want to temp fate. I've put the bedding in the wash and am trying to resist spring cleaning our bedroom! I think the garden will win. OH has gone to the tip with some of the rubbish he's sorted out from the garage. He started to put garden cuttings etc into the trailer then remembered we now have a brown bin for garden waste!

No other plans for today. I hope everyone is ok.

Good morning everyone and Happy Bank Holiday weekend!

Daisy you certainly did get a lot done yesterday. Now for some lovely weather to enjoy your summer house! I bet Eva's hose pipe shower is fun to watch.

Its rare for you to be home on a Saturday Nan2.

All that online ordering woke your brain up Lizzie!

We are going to pick up the coffee table and do some shopping. We usually avoid Saturday supermarket shopping but sometimes that's the way it works out.

              Thick cloud here today.

Morning Ladies, the sun has broken through....at last....and it's forecast to be a beautiful day! Off to get my walk in before anything else, woollies are in washing machine and I've got plants I bought the other afternoon to put in the garden this afternoon. Then I also have the pieces for the felt brooches we're making at Ladies Group this week to cut out in readiness. I can do that when I'm sitting relaxing this evening and over the next few days!

Your posts about chocolate biscuits made me smile and brought back a memory of OH. In the afternoons at his work, a tea lady would come round in the afternoon and once you'd reached a certain level of importance, your tea would be brought to your desk on a tray with a Club chocolate biscuit. Less important staff only got a digestive (or similar) and certainly not on a tray. OH didn't eat chocolate biscuits, in fact he didn't eat any biscuits) so he'd pop them in his drawer and every so often bring them home! There was usually a bit of a squabble as to who managed to get what! The orange one weren't popular as I recall. BUT nibbling all the chocolate off was my favourite bit!

Whatever you're up to this Bank Holiday weekend ladies, enjoy! Fingers crossed that it stays dry and that this sunny weather is here to stay. xx

PS I'm getting a new gas fire fitted at the end of the month and DD reckons that when Summer will arrive, can but hope!

                  Morning ladies

Gem I don’t like Saturday supermarkets either, unless we go for 8am.
Hope you get the Table ok,

                  Lizzie
Poor GD she must have Been so cross with herself but in future she won’t make that mistake again.
Its hard to get back to sleep when you have had to switch your brain on again isnt it.

                  Nanto
Unusual for you to be in on a Saturday,
Im with your OH I love chicken tikka, we having a chicken curry tonight as it happens courtesy of our local Chinese 😁

                  Daisy
You did get a lot done yesterday , did you Evict all the spiders 😁

Dogs do get a bit of a whiff at times,
I said on Saturday when Storm stayed the night, he was asleep across my feet and a whiff kept raising up the hotter he got.
DD has booked him in at Pets at Home for a Bath on Monday ,
Being a double coat and so thick it’s impossible to wash and dry him at home.

We went to Farm foods this morning for some bits then to B&Q
B went off to look at some stuff he wanted and I went to the garden centre bit.

Bought some bedding plants and a box bush for one of my new planters out the front,
Went at the right time as 20%off all outdoor plants.

Just got back in the house when the rain started again .
Need to clean the dreaded Mirror after lunch , oh the joys 🙄🤣

Yes ladies,it is unusual for us not to be out on a saturday.
I don't like staying in on saturdays, but we got the gardening done.

                      The quad passed its MOT.

Not had any sunshine, but not had any rain yet either.

WeeGranny,i hope your DD is right about summer coming when you get your new fire.

Oma, we have four box plants outside, had them quite a few years now.
In fact hubby has clipped them a little bit today, just enough to keep them tidy.

Just seen the photo Gem, coffee table looks lovely.
Hubby is on with making us a new shoe rack, not that thats anything to do with your coffee table.

Thanks ladies We are glad to have it at last. The other can go back to DD1.
The children especially the younger 2, use our coffee table to have drinks and snacks on and to draw, and in GS3's case play with various toys.
We have a PVC cloth which we sometimes use for the children at the dining table. That will be going on the coffee table when they are here, before felt tip marks appear!

Very useful making a shoe rack Nan2!

We must get our bedding plants Oma. A good time with 20% off too.

Fingers crossed your new gas fire encourages the summer WG!

Before we collected the coffee table we went to Sainsbury's for a few things and to the garden centre for OH's tomato and cucumber plants. She often grows them from seed but isn't this year.
She has borrowed next door's power washer and is doing several things including her golf bag. I am feeling the effects of 3 aqua classes last week so happy to take it easy the rest of today!

Nice table Gem , not unlike the style of mine 😁
Bet your pleased to finally get it.
The cloth will protect it from scratches too if GS plays with his cars on there.

                              Nanto
We already have two box balls but we bought a third planter so needed another one , our other two could do with a trim now to keep them in shape.

Gs rang not long after we got back in could he come for breakfast and he would have a shower while he was here,
He stayed at Lucie’s uni flat last night so was dropping her off at home then coming to ours,

A shower and a full English later and he was satisfied 😁

WeeGranny, your memories of your OH and tea and chocolate biscuits at work made me smile. And brought back a memory of my mum doing a temporary job as a tea lady - just holiday cover - and putting the tea towel to dry over the rack over the oven, and setting fire to it! Lots of places used to have a tea lady, and what a welcome sight they were. At college we had a lady who came into the staff room at morning break and made tea and coffee, and she always had a choice of choccy biscuits to put a smile on our faces. The cup of coffee was so welcome. . I hope your DD is right about summer coming when you get your new gas fire.

Oma, I can't imagine how Eva would react to a doggy beauty parlour! I don't think they'd want her back a second time! Storm is such a good boy, though, and I'm sure he's the perfect client. Did B get what he wanted at B&Q? I bet GS tucked in to his full English. They've got hollow legs at that age, haven't they! It's hard to believe he's done his first year at Uni - it's flown by.

Nanto, glad you got the gardening done, even if you did miss your Saturday outing. At least you didn't have to cry off because of the weather. How long will the shoe rack take? My OH often finds he starts making something then something happens and the job gets put to the back of the queue.

Gem, I love your new coffee table, and I'm already picturing GS3 carefully placing his juice drink on one of the coasters. It's amazing how things like felt-tip pens leave their mark - literally. I always find some on my desk when the GDs have been. It washes off though. S will be exhausted after all that power washing. I hope you did take it easy and rest your knee this afternoon.

Today was the sunniest day we've had for ages, and it was even warm enough to potter in and out without a jumper! I did loads of washing and got it dried outside, did our bedroom and generally did some tidying up and hoovering. The horse chestnut tree is shedding the little sticky leaf/flower casings and they tread in, no matter how careful you are. OH is still sorting out the garage.
