Sorry I’m only now getting a chance to post. We are still at DS1’s but had some sad news this morning. OH’s older brother passed away last night. He had vascular dementia and I had spoken to his wife on Friday, and she had said he was very poorly. We seem to have been on the phone most of the day, but I think it’s been good for OH to have something physical to keep him occupied.

We will be back home later today thoug, although the motorway will be closed where we normally get on, so a bit of a detour.

It’s our flu jabs first thing in the morning so I’ll catch up after that.

                    Good morning everyone.

                    Happy holidays Lizzie and WG

Lovely family photo Oma. GS will be back before you know it.

Oh I am sorry about your OH's brother Daisy. Sad news for you all.

Meeting of my Library Friends group this morning.
I have a neck and back massage booked with the lady I usually go to at 4.
Meal out with the 2 friends I used to work with tonight.
I'm fitting all these things in before my op. I feel as though I am doing what I can before going to the executioners chair!

No graphic, didn't seem appropriate after Daisy's sad news. So sorry Daisy. Hope OH is OK.

                      Lovely family photo Oma.

Not much happening here. I've got a load of runner beans to freeze. Hubby's friend sent them, along with a load of apples.

Dinner is chicken in breadcrumbs, mash and veg, will include some runner beans and gravy.

                        Good Monday morning, everyone.

Nanto, thank you - that is very sweet of you. It seems a bit strange today - we're back home, but the week won't be what we planned. I'll write more in YEO when I can.

In the meantime, we've got the joy of our flu jabs this morning.

Gemini, I suppose you will be off the social scene for a bit but I am sure you will have loads of visitors. Enjoy your massage.

I have found myself a cleaner, she is coming tomorrow for the first time, I hope she is good and that we get along. I really felt I only needed help once a fortnight but they would only agree to once a week. My DD feels she could help me changing the bed etc but I don’t want that she has her hands full as it is. Job for her tomorrow is bedding changing and the bathrooms. I can put a duster around and push a vacuum We had a very noisy storm yesterday which cleared the air.

Ive never been a lover of runner beans , I think it’s from childhood , I must try them again.

What a night and morning ,
MIL was poorly last night so nurses came out and decided to send her to Hospital, Ambulance didn’t come till 12.15 pm
SIL left her as they said they were waiting for a bed ,
B rang this morning to be informed she had been discharged at 3 am to go home in a Taxi on her own ,

SIL went straight to hers after B rang her to check on her
They sent her home with a Cannula still in her hand ,
Nurses are coming out to remove it this morning they were shocked they had not only sent her home alone at that time of the morning but to still have a cannula in ,
SIL has put a complaint in
Fancy sending a 89 yr old home in that state alone without informing a relative, B could have gone to collect her .

Then lots of tears this morning saying goodby to GS . He hadn’t been on the road a hour when he rang again , he had stopped in a service station as he was so upset ,
He knows we only on the end of a phone and we can be there whenever he wants us but it’s still a pull isn’t it ,
He kept saying I love yous so much in between tears .

Him and Connor have lots of plans so hopefully the homesickness won’t be so bad , but I think I’ve cried more than him
DD staying till about 7 then him and Connor are going out and she’s driving home .

                              I have a headache now 🙄😁

                              Plant
A cleaner is a good idea for the heavy stuff , saves your DD she’s a busy lady with the GC as it is but I’m sure she would have done it if you asked .
But as you say you don’t want to put on her do you , MIL will ask cleaner to do things she wouldn’t ask us to do .

Plant I'm glad you found a cleaner and hope it works out well. I does seem a bit unreasonable of her to insist on weekly. My auntie has a fortnightly cleaner who changes her bed, which is very useful.

Oma, that's disgraceful sending a lady her age home on her own at 3am.. It's appalling.

HUGS to you Oma. The first goodbye is the hardest. He will be home loads, they get long holidays not to mention weekends at home.
Maybe you and B could go over midweek sometimes once GS is settled in? I drove to Hull to see DD3 every 2 or 3 weeks. I bought her lunch and we did a bit of shopping for her.

The meeting went fine and I stayed for a cuppa with some of them.

Off to colour my hair now and phone my auntie to see if we can fit her in before execution day
