Lizzie I do miss all the plants and flowers in Holland!

OH is being transferred from hospital today to a nursing home. Respite to begin with, then we shall see how it's going. I'm so angry with the hospital, but I'll write about it in YEO later. Not sure how I'm feeling to be honest. All the family are here for support. The gin/wine consumption has gone up in the past week I can tell you!!!

Lovely sunny day here, hope it's the same for Oma on her break and for the rest of you ladies. xx
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Hello everybody. It's nice and sunny here too.

I don't quite now what's happened to this morning, but mostly I think taken up with ongoing patio problems. They're not here today or tomorrow but should be working on Sunday. I'll write up about it on my patio thread a bit later.

Lizzie - those pansies look gorgeous. It's so amazing to see them flowering away in the worst of the winter weather - such cheerful looking flowers, aren't they. I do hope the doctor will be able to help you prevent further attacks. x

WeeGranny, I'm glad the family is with you, and I think you need the gin/wine to keep it all together at the moment. Sending hugs. xx

Nanto - I'm sure dad will appreciate the company as well as goodies from the bakery. I hope the rest of the day pans out well.

Oma - I hope you and B are relaxing in the lap of luxury at your hotel, and making the most of your break. Does the bathroom have a nice deep bath to wallow in? xx

Plant - I always say if I'm too tired to cook, I'm too tired to eat, so soup and fruit were probably good choices last night. Is all well with your warfarin checks?

Gem - it's quite a journey for you to pick GD up, but lovely to be able to do it. Parking round schools is always a problem, isn't it. I bet GD will have lots to tell you about her new school.

Another busy day, warfarin at 10 and funeral at 11.30. I decided are there were so many mourners at the funeral going to a restaurant following the funeral I would give it a miss and come home instead. I needed to make some scones for the village show and GD and baby H were at DD’s so I have had a nice rest this afternoon. I have to deliver the scones tomorrow but apart from that the weekend is free. Warfarin reading was spot on so I don’t have to report for 3 weeks.

I hope the school pick-up went okay Gemini, quite a long car ride for you.

WG, so pleased you have the family to support you. I hope the respite care works well and your OH is not too confused to be there.

Plant - good to hear that your warfarin levels were spot on. How many scones did you make for the village show? Baby H is growing so quickly - did she keep still long enough for you to get some cuddles?

Oma - so you're super-clean then after 4 baths! I'm glad you had a bathroom with an actual bath, because I seem to remember last time you went away (before Covid) there was only a shower and you were a bit disappointed.

Nanto - isn't it lovely to have the sunshine and be able to sit in the garden and enjoy a cuppa with some friends. Simple pleasures, but lovely.

Today has gone from trying to work out how to go forward with the patio and the problems, to OH having to take all the pipes under the kitchen sink apart to clear a blockage. There's a double sink and the dishwasher feeding into the pipework and it's done in such a way that the water has to be pushed up wards before it can go down and into the main drain. It took ages, and some help from me to pass this, pass that etc. It's now spotlessly clean (as far as we can tell) but one pipe is leaking slightly - we can avoid using the little sink until OH can get a new part - but the kitchen is like a war zone! In the middle of it I had to prep some food for Eva - I'd defrosted it and needed to portion it up and get it frozen again before half the flies in the south of England found it!! We've just had scrambled eggs on toast, and it feels like bedtime to me.

After what seemed ages being discharged from hospital, 3 and a half hours after schedule, OH made it to the nursing home and settled in to his room remarkably quickly. I think he was so relieved to be out of the ward. He admitted to SiL who went to the hospital to be with him when he was discharged, but couldn't travel with him in the ambulance, that he was glad to be going because he thought it was becoming too much for me to cope with! The staff were all lovely to him and we've booked to go and see him on Sunday. He said to the nurse, he hoped he wasn't too late for tea! I don't think he ate all the time he was in hospital. I feel relieved and exhausted at the same time, so I'm off to bed now.

Only supermarket shopping today. Hubby is helping DS1 with a few jobs.

WG, pleased to hear OH settled in quickly, which must be a relief for you.

Daisy, a busy time for you yesterday. Good that the blockage is cleared.

Plant, good news that your results were spot on.

Good morning, WG, what a worry for you all, I am pleased that OH settled in well and I hope he had something to eat.xxx

Daisy, what a carry on you are having at the moment, everything seems to happen at the same time!

Oma, pleased you are enjoying your few days away.

I hope my cystitis is now clear, I only had to get up once in the night to go to the toilet, instead of every 30 minutes.

It is lovely weather so I will have a bike ride, see which direction I take.

Enjoy your bike ride Lizzie. Please to hear you had a better night.

WG, I hope your OH had a good night.

Not such a busy day for me, I have an appt. for a flu jab at our local chemists and later I have to deliver some scones to the village hall to deliver some scones for the cake stall at the village show. Our road is likely to be blocked from 11 am today with cement lorries so I hope I can get out. We have two houses almost opposite each other being enlarged and today they are pouring cement at one house.

                      I will pop back later.

Good Saturday morning everyone. I was so convinced it was Saturday yesterday that today I'm equally convinced it's Sunday! It was only reading Nanto's and Plant's posts about the supermarket and getting a flu jab that made me check the day on my computer!

WeeGranny - thank goodness your OH is pleased to be out of hospital and settling down so quickly. I do hope he got his tea and it was something he enjoyed. You must be exhausted, so I hope you can have an easy day today and the family look after you.

Lizzie - yes, it does feel like everything happening at once, and to make it worse I've pulled a muscle or something in my right arm and everything I do hurts, but worst of all I can't sleep on that side and keep waking up!

OH got the sink blockage sorted out last night, but one of the joints is leaking so he's off to the plumbers' merchants this morning to get a new fitting. It's a good job he's so practical!

Plant - I'm sure your scones will see like the proverbial hot cakes. I hope the weather stays nice for the village show. It does sound busy in your road with two lots of extensions, and pouring cement is always nerve wracking! It sounds as though they are both big building projects.

                        Have a good Saturday everyone.

                          Good morning everyone.

Welcome home Oma. I bet you enjoyed those baths while you were away
Nan2, I hope you get everything you need shopping today.
WG, it's natural to have these mixed feelings. Take time to breathe and relax a bit!
It sounds as though your OH is settling. My friend's brother has Parkinson's and has been in a nursing home for several years. His wife had to make that decision. Not an easy one I'm sure, but you know when it is the right decision for both parties.
Daisy you have the perfect excuse for no cooking with your kitchen as it is!
I hope it's not too noisy down your road Plant!
Fingers crossed the cystitis is past the worst Lizzie.

School run went fine yesterday. Satnav took me past where I need to be, to a church! I soon backtracked and found the right place, and GD turned up all smiles. She looks lovely in her uniform
GS was happy boisterous and playing dinosaurs at ours, GD relaxing watch You Tube make up tutorials! He then had a nosebleed after tea. Not like the severe one which landed him in hospital overnight when he was three though thank goodness . He kept very calm, let me look after him and it was done within ten to fifteen minutes or so.

No plans today. A friend is calling in this morning to pick something up from OH, but I'm not sure if she is staying for coffee.

                          Happy Saturday to all.

I am often unsure what day it is!
I hope you are both feeling OK after your jabs.

Good morning everyone, hope all is well with you.

Feeling a bit low as my poorly neighbour passed away yesterday . She was such a vibrant ,bubbly person and even after her cancer diagnosis she stayed so positive. I’m glad that she was at home with her family with her.I was going to have some friends round for coffee yesterday but we postponed as It didn’t seem appropriate to be chatting away happily while they were grieving next door.

It’s a “go with the flow” day here. I was going to cut back a tree in the front garden but as it overhangs next door I don’t think I feel like doing it considering the sad circumstances.

                              Have a good weekend everyone.
